I think TD wrote in another thread saying that he has relocated up to Darwin.
First weekend is not good for me. I’m organising lan games with a few mates.
Has anyone noticed the ‘financial crisis’ prices on mini-z gear at the moment. eg. Autoscale bodies at around $60 aud delivered.
Not a good time to buy in my opinion.
If I lived in Melbourne, I’d be hanging around that place like a disgusting egg fart in a lift.
Hey DGS,
Let us know when you’re next organising a large group race. I haven’t run my cars for a couple of years now, they’ve been shelved. Hopefully they still work…:)
Woohoo… all clean. 😀
BUMP.
Where are you at and how many racers ? 😀
Check that the antenna on the car is screwed down properly making good contact with the antenna wire from the pcb.
Check that your motor has the capacitors on the terminals to reduce interference.
Check that your transmitter/radio has batteries.
Check that radio crystals are plugged in correctly and try a different 27mhz set if you’ve got some spare.
Open up the servo box and check to see if all the servo gears are clean and that no gear teeth broken and no binding.
When working on the car, make sure you switch off, and take all batteries out of the car.
Are you using the KT5 that comes with overlanders or your own radio ?
Looking good, I use the clark rubber ones as well and they are pretty good quality mats. I found that the track width of one tile is too narrow for me to get any decent speeds, so am in the process of removing all the track barriers (which were glued down) and just having the track barriers around the edge of the mats only. My plans are to simply use round foam barriers like those pool noodles or whatever they’re called, and using elastic bands to fix them to the tiles where they join up with each other.
If you were in Sydney, I’d turn up for a run.:smiley14:
Hi, Good to see you back again 🙂 We were wondering where you went to, as all of a sudden, you disappeared from the forums.
A lot of the Sydney crowd don’t post here anymore and it seems like the forums are pretty dead with the odd visitor every now and then.
I don’t believe there are any mini-z clubs like the hong kong ones here in Australia. Everyone prefers to race 1:10 it seems. 🙁
Most of the members here simply make their own tracks using either the clark rubber mats, or supacheap auto mats, or running on smooth concrete garage floors. Gather a few friends together and have a casual race.
I assume it’s a base model Futaba 2PH which doesn’t have those extra steering controls like epa and d/r.
You might need a better tx to get the full steering.
Not sure if this helps, but I had a similar issue with a mr02 chassis, where the screws that hold the metal tabs that make contact to the battery were loose causing intermittent power outs. But you still have steering.
– Take your motor out and see if it runs a single aa battery. Brushes worn down ?
– Check the wiring to the motor and ensure that the tabs are screwed down properly onto the pcb.
– Check Fets for damage.
– Change crystals in tx and rx.
– Ensure tx batteries are fully charged.

so have you ordered one yet man?
im tempted but i bought a house, so im saving 5 bucks a week till i can afford a cool rc………….could be a while LOL!
Not yet, perhaps when they get cheaper say in a years time…
Good to hear that you’ve bought a house ! Hope it has a large garage to set up a mini-z track.:D
There is some clearance there between the chassis and body (about 6mm) on the left and right sides of the driver. Perhaps you could put your spider there and put some weight on the opposing side to equalise the balance. There is some room closer to the motor however, I think it would interfere/bind the rear suspension.
Mini-z F1 is awesome as they don’t need a lot of hop ups to handle well. Just keep in mind that the parts are difficult to source and are more expensive than the standard mini-z gear.
Here are a couple of web sites where you can get mini-z f1…
http://www.egrracing.com for mini-z f1 readyset
http://www.rcmini-z.com for kyosho f1 partsI have the ausmicro alloy wheel nuts on my mr01, mr02.
I use a 4.5mm nut wrench from a precision screw driver set that I bought from an electronic store.
The plastic wrenches that come with the kit pretty much suck shiet.
They cost about $218 USD (chassis set & controller) not including shipping.
They’re a tad too pricey for me right now. I’ll probably look at getting the controller and upgrade pcb to play around with when it comes out.
The lemans bodies don’t appeal to me.
So is anyone thinking about getting one of these ? I noticed that they are now selling in Japan, but unfortunately not as a ready set.
They work for 6t,7t,8t pinion gears which is what you will run if you have a stock motor. For 6t/7t pinion gears, fold up a small piece of paper a slot it between the clip and the motor. You will still need your other motor spacers on the axle side of the motor mount.
I have two of them and they worked for me with no issues otherwise save up a little more and get an alloy motor mount because the stock clips will break again.
Do these foamies grip on floor tiles better than rubber ?
If you’ve broken just your motor clip, then this is the part:

Merry christmas everyone.
Hope you get lots of rc presents for christmas.
I got an mr015 chassis set this year plus 5 autoscale bodies plus a venom micro helicopter.

z-beam; hey hey, long time no hear… mate thats a go… anytime you’re able, we’ll be ready!! Kev; you out there mate? You should join in the fun too, just like old times!! lol
Hey Dave… Good to see you back on the web. 😀
Clark Rubber has these 2ftx2ft interlocking rubber mats which are smooth on one side, and lightly grooved on the other for I think around $12 each, but if you buy more, then you can ask for a discount. I have about 24-30 of them and it will fill up a single car garage – so not exactly cheap, but cheaper than an rcp track.
You can also get cheap interlocking mats from super cheap auto.
Here, I did a search on an old thread
http://www.ausmicro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10418&highlight=track
You could try the supplier ie. http://www.rcptracks.com/html/home.html to see if they’ll ship to Australia.
Last time I checked, a simple wide-L would cost around $550AUD. So ended up making a ghetto one using interlocking rubber mats from clark rubber.
I hope your one steers straight and doesn’t have any issues out of the box.
I found that mine one would steer straight for the first 5 minutes or so, and then gradually drift off center and found that I had to constantly adjust the steering trim to get it to steer straight again.
Anyway, welcome to the mini-z scene.
