Might be your personal hand wound motor – fets burnt out perhaps.

Probably should have let it be rather than going over it with the solder iron.

Gotta give em time to burn in properly…

I can’t believe it’s dragged on for months… but then it’s hard when you’re dealing with an overseas party…

Talldude, dunno if Geo can fix your iwaver without his phillips head screw driver. Geo – I didn’t take it, but if you like I can get you a new set at Dick Smith – they’re about $2 or if you want something flashy like mine with the magnetic tip – they’re $3.

    🙂

    Jay-z,

If the money ain’t claimed for a money order, can’t you simply go to the post office and have it cancelled, and your money returned minus any admin fees ? I don’t have any experience with these, but surely they are suppose to protect the buyer in some way… like it not as risky as sending cash right ?

Geo, I was looking at the M’z stock motor as well, but the guy couldn’t tell me whether it was a bbcan one, so I didn’t buy. Did you pick up anything else ? If you’re after a h-plate I got a medium and hard setting you can have ie. if you don’t mind oem for now.

Tim, I’d like to see your car in action, but can’t make it this week because of work. Can you bring your camera and take a video of it – I’d like to see it spin out on full throttle launches
    😀

If this beast becomes installable without soldering, I’m gunna want one of ’em. But it’s gotta be V1.X > Timmy’s V1.1
    😀

BTW, if you tug at it, will it rip from the solder joints ?

    Jay-z,

RCRM soft compoung 25 degree tyres for $10.
    RCRM bearings for $22.45
    RCRM brake disks for $11.50
RCRM steering knuckles $17.00 1 pack left.
    Kyosho viper wheels for $7.00

No wheel nuts as far as I could see…

That’s all that I can remember… all other things didn’t catch my attention.

Sorry to hear about your stella models deal, did they take the money out of your account ? Before I bought all my rcrm stuff, I was emailing stella, and he/she seemed really helpful and all replying to all my emails.

Will there be a version of this in plug ‘n’ play format like other external turbos ?

The reason is that I would like to run a turbo only on days that I can have a drag with young Timmy and have the flexibility of running stock on other days on the track if you know what I mean.

    Dudes,

Hobbyco in the city are having a 50% off sale on what’s left of there Mini-z parts. Apparently the Australian importers have now succumbed to overseas competition and it’s just not viable for them stock the parts so they’re clearing it all out never to stock them again !

Eg. Those kyosho servo gears which were $11.95 are now $6.

On my way home from work, I popped into jaycar to ask when these are coming and the sales guy said 18th of July. So yeah, two weeks time.

Our jaws all dropped when that little girl on the bike came ever so close to your i-waver… just a few cms more and your car would have been crushed.

That battery cover belongs to dgs’s mate.

We’ll see how fast you can go… have you ordered suspension mods yet ?

Paint job is fun and all, but a bashed up body might have impact cracks, lost head light lenses, ripped off mirrors etc.. I personally wouldn’t bother painting if in this condition but would rather get another autoscale body *IF* they are still available…

Bottom line is buy two of ’em.

I’m not coming for 2 weeks. Got some family stuff to do this week, then next Sunday got to go to work.

Geo – thanks for the offer – but I get nervous when I drive someone elses z. My mini-z is now up and running with the d2 benz shell woohoo. Just got to wear in the new spur gear.

Looks like it would as it comes in RM form when buying the ready set.

But seriously, would you really want to bang that shell up ?

Can’t wait to get that skyline body. The 355 body and an alloy motor mount allow for zero rear suspension movement.

Do us a favour and open up mocky’s iwaver and put finger prints all over the body… Muhahahah

I did 3 hours of servicing last night and my diff shaft looks slightly bent as well. 🙁

So far the damage would amount to

    ASC Body Porsche GT3 $22.90
3 Racing Ball Diff (can I get shafts for these?) $13.00
3 Racing Motor Heat Sink $3.50
    3 Racing Spur/Pinin Gear $3.50
    Shipping ~ $12.00
Total $51.40 converted to AUD $79.00

The corner court is looking very attractive at this moment. The kids don’t ride their bikes on grass right ???

Yeah, I’d be quite happy to bring like a dozen or so bread rolls and sausages, if someone were to bring the bbq but this would only suit a day where quite a few of us showed up. Basically if we all agree on a Sunday which all of us can attend then this would be the way to go…

I’m out this Sunday because of the “sorry” incident.

Josh had a bunch of half cut tennis balls and we were using them as “domes” – but that didn’t stop the kids riding over them or kicking them to another court. At one stage we had “gang” of 6 kids on bikes and one 4 year old on a tri-cycle ride across the court that we were racing on – they were having there own race it seemed.

The woman that was running across the courts that stepped on Dgs’s gtr was trying to get to her crying daughter who had fallen from her bicycle.

Fortunately no visual damage occurred to his mini-z but after that, his car’s handling was off somewhat…

Like Jamie says, kids and parents there have no idea on the cost of these cars and consider them as cheap rc toys.

Talldude, I won’t be there this coming Sunday, maybe the following depending on whether my new parts get delivered before then. Just becareful when you race your rc cars out there and give’em the good old “get tha fack out of ‘ere” if they venture in too close.

Geo, sorry to hear about your Z – that nsx is a nice shell – did it explode on impact ? or just paint ? I think I’ll be sticking to i-waver shells from now on.

I prefer the 5 because it has that throttle-a throttle-b knob adjusts the trigger. The 2 looks like something from star trek.

I’ll be coming to m’bank this sunday. I found a different route to get to there and it now takes me 25 minutes instead of 35 minutes.

Will we bother with the track or just drag and smash ?

How many people going this week ? Gunna bring my esso ultraflo supra bcg…

    Dgs,

No worries about the foam stuff. I just checked out the place and they don’t have much left.. Will have to wait till they get more stuff in. At the moment they got lots of long strips of grey foam, which are about 10cm wide, 1 cm thickness in a roll – not sure if it can be used for track barriers though.
