Yes this is true. Im not having any troubles with the 150mAH cells, but it may make a difference with a 50mAH cell. Just have to do 2 or 3 charges before running, if you didnt do that already.
Ph2t and GT-ahh, you have PMs.
:)uA
The FETS are the IRLML2502 from Conrad as stated in the German site. As it turns out I should have bought more FETs because now I am in the process of converting multi cell boosters and I want to do a parrallel FET mod too (thanks GT-ahh), but all that is starting to chew up my reserves of FETs quickly.
I may do another order if people are interested in me doing the mod for them on their car, I will consider that too.
Havent done run test times with it yet, but to a certain extent the runtime depends on the motor and how much current it draws. Had some good long runs (approx. 10-15 mins)with a 3.8, but I am using the 150mAH cells. This mod gives you almost dual cell performance in a single cell car that can be charged on a standard charger. It is pretty much the ultimate mod that improves performance and doesnt require external changes, eg extra battery outside or an extra charger.
Its the best mod I’ve found yet.

That is a fantastic feature being able to link to pictures in your own gallery. Isn’t that going to cost you a heap in bandwidth and storage, hosting all the members pics?
:)uAHey Aaron, we need a link at the top of this page to the members galleries.
Come to think of it theres no link to the Ausmicro home page from here either.
:)uAYeh, I will put one in my new member gallery, as soon as I get some sorted.
uASomething strange is going on here, the forum index is showing a reply by Aaron at 09:10:04 , but it is not here.
Hmmmmm.
:)uAAhh, silly me, that was the edit on the previous post.

Thanks Spanky, I own a S410 as well, used to do alot of triathlon stuff.
I’m not sure that the ‘power usage’ they refer to would be useful to us. I think it is determined by rider weight and pedal cadence. But there is always the option of investigating and modifying.
Pricey tho.
:)uAAaron, the account is working but……
the upload bar doesnt scroll accross when pictures are uploading, and when I uploaded 1 sample pic, it put 5 of them into all the available places.
Back to you.
:)uASo they do…….
Thanks Barto.
:)uAPretty amazing work, I cant believe he didnt pull the engine out and do the engine bay too !!
What a pitty, such a great car and you open the bonnet to severe dissapointment. Just a plastic cover over all the old crap.
Workmanship like that body work is hard to find, and when you do it is VERY expensive. This guy obviously has money to burn and doesnt car that his car is a fake. Call me silly, and its a great car, but I think I’d prefer the real mccoy.
I have a photo album full of his kind of stuff after spending 7 years doing a bare-metal rebuild of a 60’s sports car. Alot depends on the quality of those that do the work for you. Good fun at the end of it all tho.
:)uAPh2t, I cant find data sheets for the transistors on the net, but….
if you want to use H-bridge parts, use one of the NPN transistors Q4 or Q5 (or use steering transistors Q2 or Q3) the other ones are PNP and no good for this mod.
Q4 & 5 are the ones nearest the V+ terminal on the Rx pcb.
Upon looking a bit further it seems the pin designation is not simply C-B-E on the smd bipolars.
Orientated so that the single pin is on top, the base is bottom left, collector is bottom right, and emitter is top middle. Not 100% sure tho.
:)uAQuote:well i never said suspension.. u could just use em for like….. okay so i meant suspesionLOL 😀
Freeloader101, you crack me up.
:)uAInteresting idea tho. Might have to look into that one. Any ideas which cycle computers link to PC ??
:)uAI ordered some of these, a little expensive I thought but I put together an order that came to EUR 25.00. (about AU$50)
After doing the checkout, they were going to charge me another EUR37 postage (AU$70 for poatage !!) 😯 for a little box that weighed about 200 gramms.
Forget it.
:)uANot sure, they are the same as the smd transistors that are used in the H bridge, B9Ds I think, or you can use lm2502 fets too.
I will find some more info on this and I’ll post it.
:)uAQuote:C’mon uA, you gotta go one better…hehehe, Panda you are a stirrer. I do have another mod thread waiting in the wings tho. It will probably be posted tomorrow.
Quote:Hopefully there will be some electronics to control the lights when going fwd, rev, left, right, etc…..Ph2t, do you know that the booster Tx/Rx combo have a function that is not used. Just solder in a NPN transistor, a 100ohm resistor (both smd)and bobs your uncle, lights you can turn on and off. Oh and you need to put a switch or pushbutton on the Tx too.
Have a look here, the Germans really do have this stuff sussed.
1 extra Tx channel

ph2t, how much current are you using to run these?
are they smd’s or standards?Aaron, I have to agree with Spanky one this one.
I have stopped keeping track of as many threads as I would like to because the amount of reminder emails becomes annoying.
One email per thread that says “There is a new post to this thread since your last visit” would be great to reduce the junkmail.
What are the chances?
:)uADyno IS progressing but slowly. I have been able to get some output power production, but it is a little on the small side.
I have some other ideas which I will try soon, it will probably mean redesigning the whole thing but that is ok, I just have to put more time into it to finish it.
I hope to have some time off work soon, fingers crossed I will be able to finish it, and get some decent results.
Then I can start the spreadsheet of results.:)uA
hehehe, post removed.

Fantastic as far as I am concerned.
FAST…..it got to me in about 4 days and the packaging is some of the best I’ve seen.
Should be more like them.
:)uAYeh I am a big fan of FCs too. I would also be interested to know where this originated from.
:)uACeramicFuelCells in Melbourne focus on medium to large scale power production plants, so their stuff would be too huge.
The thing on the motor is probably a fuel heater.
It looks like it runs a liquid fuel because the fuel lines are not the pressure type.
PEM sounds right Perri, they can take a certain amount of impurities inherent in liquid hydrocarbons. Some of the other types require perfect purity in their fuel supply, which would make it difficult to easily refuel. How ’bout some details Panda.
If I do come along, I will bring the family…..,
The Keyence Mad Tune,
The Puchi Maru,
The Tomy Die Cast Altezza,
and many, many Bits.
Not sure yet tho, it would be good to have some company.

ph2t, there is another controller charging mod idea I have but I’d like to run it by you first, see what you think first.
:)uAyou can buy the center steering piece with the magnet and spring from toyeast, about 7 or 8 $ tho.
