Nunawading don’t have much empty land left, except towards Scoresby.

Got Carrington Park (Knox) not too far away either.

Hardwiring the xtal can make it a pain to change…

hope ya guys know you can buy “xtal xtenders” from LHS, the plane guys sometimes use them.

Or you can buy xtal female sockets from Jaycar (I think). I bought them some yrs ago, they probably still stock them.

so what does this mean for us average bruces, do we need documentation for our radio gear?

if i bought 72mhz radio gear would it get seized at customs?
Not illegal to buy or possess… if you turn it on, that’s a different issue.

But to import for resale/distribute stuff is a different matter.

Investment-wise, running a LHS would rate about as good as buying TLS shares @ $5.82. For me anyways…

(ahh, have a thought for the poor mums-n-dads who paid $7.40 in T2!)

RC is not an addiction (which by definition is CURABLE) but a Veneral Disease that, once it enters your bloodstream, you will have to live with for the rest of your natural life.

    There is no known cure.

Usual symptoms of RC mania is wallet athrophy (wallet always empty), with secondary afflictions of having bits of RC gear laying everywhere. You know you’ve got it bad when you go buy video games that feature RC… recommended titles are ReVolt, RC De Go and Team Losi.

One can reduce the disease’s harmful effects by staying away from further contact; usual temples of temptation are commonly known as “Local Hobby Shop” and echoed in bibles such as “RCCA” (I buy it just for the articles, honest!).

It is not yet known if the RC disease is genetic or hereditary, but anecdotal evidence is suggesting it usually afflicts humans of the X-Y chromosone. Those of the Y-Y persuation usually acquire immunity or at least abhorence to the RC idea; certainly the afflicted XYs outnumber YYs by about 5000:1.

Although it is a serious disease, carriers are usually able to live their full life expectancy (nb. carcinogenic effects of nitromethane only in State of California – sorry Arnie). Most are able to live a relatively “normal” lifestyle, usually by suppressing their RC interests during reproductive periods (ie leave their toys in the shed, not the bedroom).

But this noxious disease will soon spread once the afflicted’s offspring reaches approximately 4-6 years of age… whence the X-Y carrier will inadvertently get tempted to propogate the “joys of RC”.

    There is No Escape.

Taking too long to install your FETs might see your soldering iron sit on them for long enough to toast them… did you take more than like 30secs to solder them on?

Could be something else on your board that’s damaged; or perhaps think about the piggyback “Whoa Nelly” creation.

Funnily enough… we shot off to Ballarat on Saturday from early morning coming back late afternoon.

Bit of a duststorm at the Ballarat Airport … followed by a slight sprinkle of rain, which just cemented all the bulldust onto the duco.

Had to stop off at Melton to do a car wash, was wondering why Melbourne looked so wet…

The screens are made by Samsung and Sharp… if Sony had insisted on Zero dead pixels on their suppliers, methink the PSP will be at least a $10,000 unit.

Does the job fine as is.

My Jap PSP has a few dead pixels (Sharp screen), but they’re so small it doesn’t bother me.

Pretty darned hard to find any without… find any shop willing to let you check out the screen before buying?

Plan B) Enjoy riding my new motorcycle 🙂

    You gone bikie too? smile.gif

Have only done less than 90kms on the two-wheeler since August… but that’s still over an hour in the saddle given the little thing only does 55km/h at WOT. Damned dangerous in traffic being so slow.

Should really get around to testing for the licence… clown.gif

you gotta ask yourself the question, do you use any homebrew? is it as enjoyable as gta?

Haven’t quite had time to investigate homebrews yet…

Plus the big Duo stick I bought last month is taking the slow boat, probably won’t arrive for a few mths… so I got nothing to load onto anyway.

ahh, if it does insist on v2.0 — methink that’s a good excuse to buy a new WHITE machine…

(unless bleeding Sony brings out a shiny Chrome or a shiny Gold one first!!)

I’d be the last person you’d ask on Signal Comms clown.gif… but I’d have my suspicion that the PSP (natively) wouldn’t know how to deal with a USB keyboard…?

PS2 & xBox (the controllers use USB signals) are like PCs themselves, the USB is for ‘input’.

Whereas the PSP’s USB is like ‘line out’ sorta like the USB on a digicam or a mobile phone? Like the USB is used to connect to a PC which treats the memcard like a mountable disc.

hmm… how to test if PSP knows what’s going on? Anyone got a PSP wordprocessor?? tongue.gif

I got a few dissected USB cables that I can rig up with jumper leads, and a USB PC keyboard won’t be too hard to dig up.

All USB signals are ‘standard’ and plug adaptors are easily bought, but dunno how you can hack the PSP OS to recognise any KB?

december 2nd aparently panda for gta here in australia. but if you treasure your 1.5 firmware then dont hold your breath for it, it wont run without an upgrade to 2.0. something to do with the 2.0 firmware being compatible with more video formats than 1.5

if you are going to upgrade firmware, make sure to only go to 2.0.

Dang! guess that 2.0 requirement that’s ‘worldwide’ too, so no point shipping a copy in from Japan.
