i just got a bicycle computer that allows me to enter in the circumference of the wheel. im not sure if they are all like this… but this would allow for the most precise calculations. by knowing the circumference of the wheel that has the magnet, and also figuring the circumference of the bit wheel.. you can calculate the auctual speed/rpm.

why not wait a few more weeks till microsizer releases the sub-channel cars… i.e. two frequencys, 27 and 49, each with 3 sub channels.. so you get 3 cars on 27 and 3 cars on 49 racing all at the same time… this way you get good quality crap… heheheblackeye:

yea we have had them in the states now for a while. the bodys on general are quite wide. but if you do the wheel mod correctly then you might be able to overcome this obsticale. the bodys are very heavy.. but if you can get a dual cell of possibly a tri cell under it. it might not do so bad. just dont expect any wheelies…

    tuners i have

find someone with a lathe. fill the hole with jb weld. and stick that tiny drill bit on the end chuck and bammm… your done.

if you dont have a lathe. jb weld the end of the axle.. just a bit.. then stick it in a dremel tool. (you need the chuck) then just turn on and sand to correct diameter.

if you dont have either. the above ideas sound good.

yes i have found one that will even give power output as an option…

    go to http://www.polarusa.com

    http://www.polarusa.com/Products/Consumer/S720.asp
    http://www.polarusa.com/Products/Consumer/S150.asp

look at the S720i. that one has everything.. but at a 320.99 price…. thats kidna steep. the S150 also does speed and distance and is only i think 150. but im sure you can find these cheaper at retail stores.

i own a S410, which is designed for runners. the uplink can be a pain in the but if you dont have the infared option. but it works pretty good. i am very happy with the uploads and the info i get from this thing…

well im sure there are already some bike computers that link to your pc. i have a HRM that links to the pc. so i couldnt imagine why they wouldnt make a bike comp that does the same. basically you do your workout.. or in this case. your dyno run. and the comp stores it all.. then you link up with your pc and dl it all.. the software that comes with it should be able to do allyour graphing that you need…

only catch is cost.. it could cost 100+ for a bike comp that will link to pc…

i am waware of the group buy.. however i was checking this board. and no info here either.

several weeks is the key thing.. this guy does have some in stock right now. i have been watching the bitpimps forum also and have even put in my order also.. but i have a feeling it may be at least 6 or more weeks before anything materializes there. there is also no idea on pricing, or at least i havent seen what they will be costing. is this the same guy thats doing the group buy in bitpimps?

yea those are 2wd cars. they dont achieve the same speeds as the awd cars do. also like i said it depends on the rally. some rallys have straighter roads which allow for faster speeds… you also have to realize that your dad was racing over 10 years ago. there have been alot of advancments since then, which allow cars to go much faster.. i have no doubt what your saying for speeds is right on.. but i can attest for speeds in the past few years. i have been working timing on these things all my life. cars are much faster now than they were in years past. from what i understand the biggest advances have been made with the tires.

now some stages do have average speeds of 40-50 just due to the amt of corners.. and sometimes weather even limits the speeds to 30+mph…

    o well

the fact that it was a school still shouldnt matter… there is still a school but those people shouldnt have been where they were.. anyway. true on the speeds, different stages will post different times. most club cars do go around 40+ prolevel racers are averaging speeds in the upper 70’s depending on the stage. the Ramada Cup Rally has average speeds of 120+ (pro class). cpeeds are pretty much dependent on class and type of rally. club rallys dont approach the speeds of prorallys.

no i havent seen the astro van. but we used to have a plymouth voyager that we would push to the limits.. sideways around corners and stuff… My father used to race also and he showed us a few things. he raced an old audi gt. not the AWD car.

the red wrx is shown in the expo pics.. it wasnt a rally car. more of a drag/street car. its a world record holding wrx…

no that dosent explain it. the driver and co-driver were expeirenced rallyers.. and the people that got killed were also experienced rallyers…

I have never heard of a school that operates durring a prorally. the school may be putting it on. but in order to race it you have to meet all specifications just like any other rally. Being this was a club rally, there were probably many newcomers. Also you usually never see club rallyists reach the speeds of the prorallyers. there is a reason for closing these roads down… and not allowing spectators into certain areas.. the people that died were auctually part of another race team hoping to see some cars… apparently the car lost control (which happens all the time… even with the pros)

holy shnikes.. thats expensive.. i pay about 12 dollars for a quart. (regularly 18.99 for a quart, but the store puts out a 40% of any item every week..) i dont use the alumlite resin though. i use castin-craft clear plastic. (its a polyester resin).

i plan on switchin to this stuff when i run out of my current suply of resin..

    http://www.tapplastics.com/fiberglass/molding_casting/96_clearlite.html.

im not sure if this is something that i can ship to you because of postal regulations.. but you might want to contact them. for the same price you can get a gallon of this stuff.. although im not sure what shipping would be.. i will check to see if this is something that can be shipped… and how much it would cost.
