i think this mod would be great to try out for two reasons, firstly the larger motor would be nice and off set the increased weight of the die-cast body and secondly the weight distrobution would be better and it would handle very differently to most other z’s.
havent seen you around in a long time racer9!
it broke all the speed records for hydro powered vehicles by reachin 300kmp/h… a beast indeed!
id like to see what ferrari does when it makes a hydrogen powered racer… it might be the start of a new racing league like the first eras of formula 1 when every manufacturer had radicly different designed vehicles.
nice one betty, as if your x-mod needed any more performance enhancing purchases!:p
the reason the ausmicro gallery is the best for linking pics into posts here is that the files are so close that there is very little time needed to load the pics…
sorry pete, you cant link pics from your pc at home, its got to be hosted on the internet first. all the pics ive used in this thread can be found in my ausmicro.com gallery.
upload your pics into the gallery before you try to link them into a post…
good luck!
all the details are gone… i thought it was safe ph2t!
not working for you still pete?
Images: enclose the address with

click on on the option to the left of the posting window that says “forum code is on”. scroll down the new info bar to the bottom to see the instructions to insert images into a post. is it the code you dont get or the location of the images adress?
this little suspension invention has smoothed out the cars handeling so much. i’ll make you some if you want to give them a try! im sure youll be pleased with them!
type this without the dashes [-i-m-g-]X[-/-i-m-g-]
and add the images location in where i put X(found by right clicking on a pic and selecting properties and then highlighting the location and copying it)eg.

here you go pete!

and heres some pics of some seriously simple additions ive made for my z’s to cope with my slightly bumpy tiles. they act as dampeners on the front suspention of my z’s and reduce the amount of hopping the front end does… also lowers the chassis by 1mm at the same time:D

sure did have to use a lot of coats… i ended up using the whole can on the one car!
it is designed for use on lexan bodies on the inside of the plastic and then youve got to put black over the top of it (on the inside of the car).
i used a silver undercoat with it, what did you use underneath?
GIGO? whats that stand for?
hey ken, do you know of any racing clubs in brisbane that race mini-z?
i have used the x-speed with my fetted car (6×2 stack) and it did get extremely hot. you could see sparks in side the motor as well…
do you guys think mr-01’s and 02’s couldnt compete?
and there will definatly be differences between stock cars with identicle set ups on the speed checker i reckon.
alloy should be unrestricted guys, it adds strength but is heavier so where the advantage in using it? for me i prefer more weight to help the car “roll” on after i stop accelerating through corners.
so long as the set of guidlines are simple and easy enough to patrol and enforce you should have a great time!
heres a suggestion, go to a carpet warehouse first to have a look at what they have first. find a suitable type of surface and get them to give you a price and the details of exactly what type of carpet its called within the industry…
take the quote with you and go home and phone up every other carpet supplier you can find in the phone book untill you get the best price you can. they will try and undercut each other so you should be able to knock off at least 25% off the first price you get.
there might even be a type of rubber underlay that is suitable for racing on and that stuff is usually half the price of carpet…
