Site Owner Guy.OK got the flywheels for the Dyno now. They will bolt to the standard Mini-Z axle and also fit directly tot he motor shaft.

Site Owner Guy.Sadly the iWaver x-speeds are not the greatest motor when it comes to durability. It may be possible to install PN carbon bruses but really you may be better off buying a higher a grade stock FET performance motor.

Site Owner Guy.The pic I attached above shows the correct orientation of the signal wires (http://www.ausmicro.net/v3/thedump/279B2A672792463B.JPG is the pic) when the power wires are connected as per their colour coding to the batteries.
If the Spider is getting hot and not doing much else it indicates the power wiring is reversed in relation to the signal wires. Do not let it be connected in this state for more than a few seconds otherwise it will blow.
A real quick test you could perform is to swap the battery wires around. If the FET wires are back to front then this will work 🙂

Site Owner Guy.Pimpsmurf, what we already know is that the double stack of FETs WoahNelly/ausmicro.com are selling are lower resistance ( a single replacement set is too) and therefore giving higher performance than the stock items.
We also know that the Spider and all current Nellys are lower again in resistance than the stacked replacement FETs.

Site Owner Guy.Even on concrete they’ll last quite some time. Certainly they’re good for many hours of running on any surface. I’ve still not completely worn down my original set of narrow softs and I’ve had those for close to two years!

Site Owner Guy.I’ll get a list of thickness etc – but I’d think that 1.6mm and 0.8mm should both be pretty standard I don’t think you’d want to go thicker.

Site Owner Guy.*nods* They’re the set I sent you ain’t they ph2t? I kinda looked at doing all that crap myself and then thought… Mini-Z is meant to be easy, bolt on mods and go go go not this tyre science stuff and so on… 🙂
Even if the rims can be a bit dorky, they’re light and grip and best of all the things are trued up and ready to run 🙂

I’m sure you are aware of what is being worked on for the EVO. When I eventually get my hands on an EVO I will add the wiring info. However until then our FETs will be the only option sold for the EVO by ausmicro.com (ph2t will ofcourse have the Nelly 1.3 and Deluxe ready to rumble for the EVO)

Site Owner Guy.Betty, Gandini did make a set of Foams only, dunno if I can get my mits on them though.
The ones we’ve previously had are Medium or Soft. I reckon Soft is the go pretty much no matter what unless you’re running on concrete in the middle of summer 🙂

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* As I’ve said before ph2t it _is_ the best option for the signal wires. I suppose I could have used an alternative set of 4, but then there’s always a red or black wire which tends to confuse people 🙂
And all grey, mmmm or blue etc would just have been messy.

Site Owner Guy.Yes, according to iWaver it should be fine.
BUT UI would follow these simple guidelines. Do not ‘lock’ the motor up and apply throttle (ie get it wedged against a wall), don’t drive over long grass for a prolonged period etc.
It’s quite likely the FETs will blow if you get more adventurous but by then you’ll be hooked on speed 🙂

Site Owner Guy.Lucky last was another XMod, we’ve done a few of these and have had great results witht eh Spider in 4-cell applications.

Site Owner Guy.In this picture we have had to go through a bit more effort.
The original owner of this board had pretty much destroyed the pads so we’ve cut them away, then cleared off some of the solder-mask on the board and soldered on our signal leads.
Not as neat as the first one, but it works.
