Canberra has a couple of decent shops but Mini-Z ain’t big here.
HPI MicroRS4 get reasonable support and at least both decent hobby store sin Canberra do carry Kyosho stuff including Mini-Z parts. So at the very least you’ll be able to get spare and stuff but no real aftermarket range.

Site Owner Guy.Hi T00l – got your e-0mail but thought best to answer this here….
DingoTimer software can be used to time up to 6 cars, but needs to be triggered by a keystroke for ach car. I’ve been working witht eh DingoTimer team to lok at sensing the Mini-Z and Bit char-g size cars and we’ve found the best way of doing it was/is RFID based tags.
Unfortunately the completed timing system would cost about AU$1000 in hardware to develop at the very very least – we don’t have that kind of cash and while we feel we could create a world beating product in price and performance we still would need to charge $1-2K per system to break even and eventually recover the development cost.
RFID gear is very very pricey… But very effective.
We’re sort of stalled until we can come up with a similar but much lower cost alternative.
The key tap timing methd can be surprising accurate if you have a time keeper for each car.
http://www.ringodingo.com are the people to contact about DingoTimer and it’s licensing…

Site Owner Guy.All I know is that I have fitted a fairly large (largest I have) pinion to a stock motor, some NiMH 650mAhs and some medium foam tyres and the thing simply won’t drift any more.
OK the post is about drifting – but I actually found the profound lack of traction annoying … although I’m finding the turn too hard and flip the car trick marginally more annoying 😉
Tips to drift though…
Use a ball diff and “lock” it up so both rear wheels drive equally.
Use a large pinion (more torque to wheels to break traction easier)
Use hard tyres as they’re usually spin up on smooth surfaces unlike soft ones that tend to grip.
Use batteries with a high discharge rate
X-Speed motor does help but a good stocker will do good for starters…Also tighten up yourfront wheels so they don’t free spin much – that slows the forwards movement of the car and gives marginally more control 😉

Site Owner Guy.Main reason most pay for the Tomy is a higher quality across the board – the clones are ‘variable’ and somewhat patchy in quality control and appearance. Good ones are great value and duds are well dud!

Site Owner Guy.*grins* Go for it guys – start getitng some ideas together on places tiems etc – Melb should be able to bring a good sized group together 🙂
*grins* PandaBear may even bring his Willy along 😉 Heck he had his Willy in Canberra this past weekend 😉
(Sorry Panda I had to dob you in! – Was great to catch up!)

Site Owner Guy.So how’s progress?
What colour will it end up being? Please say Blueprint or Blood Orange 😉
Is there a XR6T on the horizon? would be nice to get a doppleganger for the 1:1
*laughs* Jamie you have to control the drooling… I know there’s at least 2 in Tasmania (http://www.fordxr6turbo.com has at least two members on the floating state)… I’ll dob you in as the person that keeps leaving finger prints on their windows 😉

Site Owner Guy.I currently control all ads displayed on ausmicro.com…
They only load images and do nothing else unless you clink on them – at that point you’ll either get a cookie or or trip a click-thru count.
I’ll look into Google 😉

Site Owner Guy.I’m curious to see a certain FPV Ute finsihed and entered….
Would love to see an XR6T entered – would do one myself but need the 1:1 to model it off first 😉
Ofcourse I’m having enough trouble doing the odd jobs aroudn the site let alone finding time to actually mod (or drive) anythign!

Site Owner Guy.Yeah – my bad – For some reason the page itself only published 20 minutes after I sent the files up the server….
DaveF is quite modest, his handiwork can be seen through the site in the form of the comp backgrounds and most of the avatars we have. I’ll be updating to his new 64×64 avatars in the next few days!
Welcome aboard CrazyDave and all you other Pimps who’ve made the trek, I like yer style and hope you hang around long after the comps are been and gone!

Site Owner Guy.I’ll let the thread run – But please open the link posted above with this in mind:
IT DOES PRESENT DISTURBING IMAGES
It also raises issues and allegations that can be portayed in several different ways.
I’m not into censorship or propaganda – and urge anyone who is interested to do some research and make an informed reaction…

Site Owner Guy.It would be links, search boxes etc and that kind of thing. Biggest ‘adds’ would simply be banner links to E-Bay and Amazon etc.
But at the same time we’ll link off to as many other sites as we can.
No pop-ups, No spying, No junk…. They take too much effort to code anyway 😉

Spraying is fine if it in one of those areas that allows it 😉

Site Owner Guy.Or if you run software that blocks banners from certain sites (most of our banners are hosted by companies that provide the banners and manage teh revenue we don’t get) then they’ll break, which in turn breaks part fo the Javascript that puts them there.
It happens to me briefly before they load sometimes. I think I may be able to fix it but can’t promise it 😉

Site Owner Guy.Yeah sorry – I’m in heavy snow at the moment in the “snowed under stakes”.
Everything takes about 3 times longer than normal to address.
Main ausmicro.com PC is down with dead motherboard, I’m car-less and apparently still have to go to work each day… *grumbles*
Also want to make sure it’s all ‘right’ before it goes up 😉

Site Owner Guy.No limits. The judges have a set 100 point criteria that all entries will be judged against.
We will post up the judging proceedure and guidelines shortly so everyone can see how the entries will be assessed.

Site Owner Guy.ausmicro.com logo should be used. But you could for example develop a ‘new’ logo and marketing campaign based around it as an entry.
It doesn’t mean we’d adopt it – but yes the idea is to promote!
