The excel series is a VERY good thing, and i was almost going to do the NSW series this year, but over xmas, things kinda got crazy and we had to do something quickly and the lada came up, despite only planning to run it till something better comes up, we’ve all been plesently surprised with how its gone, and so, for this year atleast, we’ve taken the option of running a cheap car in LOTS of events (ie. interstate event etc.) instead of running an expensive car in a few events…
Its all comes down to experience, and if you can’t drive a lada fast, then don’t expect to drive a WRX fast, so that’s basically where we’re at… Having said that yesterday we missed out on buying a GT4 Celica by about an hour!!!!!
Anyone who wants further info on the event, its probably easiest to contact me at gslrallysport@bigpond.com
Thanks for your support guys!

Gotta give the speccies something to cheer about! :smiley8:
I do wish the lada had a wing like that one though!
Definately looking forward to getting a new colour scheme though… the previous owner was fond of the whole Fiat Factory scheme… i reckon it looks crap!
My kid loves em, the wife barely tolerates it.
I start therapy next week……..
just tryin to keep up with the bruces….you guys got this thing mastered:worship:
need I say more?
thanks guys. i will let you know how it goes.
Doh!. I have i have broken one of the wire. and I need to get the soldering kit to fix it. by the way my antenna is broken abit. please have a look a the photo. does that matter?
i think the poly quest 600mah ones fit in the battery holder
Ok, I’ll bite. I’m not an electronics guru, but if it’s custom chassis, body mods, I’ve got some skills. I think I’ll use my time here to learn the ‘lectric side of the hobby from the masters……..thanks for havin meh.
Everywhere I go……….there you are. Congrats man!
thats very nice, you gonna use lipos though, right?
carefull ph2t, remember what happened to my stacked fet nelly…
Yep, I use comm drops on all my motors.
I have a long style 28T pattern wound armature on the way with fat platinum comm. Hopefully that will hold up a bit better. I was hunting long armatures to wind my own, but everyone stateside is sold out of the long arms. I got this one that’s allready wound, and will use it as is until i either burn it or get tired of it, and then I will rewind it for more torque less speed.
My H2 is built for crawling, and the oversized tires, 4wd, and constant heavy throttle while romping through the yard tend to overheat a motor rather quickly. 1 of 2 things happens, the brushes melt or shatter, or the comm cooks.
My goal is to build a more reliable motor that is very high in torque with out much concern for top end speed.

Hey, got my nelly yesterday :D. Thanks Ph2t! Installation was fairly easy, and the improvement in torque is really quite remarkable. I got a good 10 minutes out of it before frying the com on my last armature. Now I must wait for my replacment armatures to come in from maine motors. I have successfully burnt up all 3 of my RS armatures in the H2. 2 S1 arms and 1 S2 arm, all fried :(. I can’t seem to keep these damn things running….

He was hosting a website dedicated to showing all the latest pics/videos from the Tsunami disater in december 04.
He just put the google ads on the page to help pay the bills and because it was such a high traffic site he made a fortune. He also started a website called lipsync.us after ashley simpson lip sync’d on SNL and made quite a nice chunk of cash off that aswell.

A mate of mine made ~$20,000USD in about 2 weeks with Google ads.I’m gonna have to give one of these a try. I’ll get the chassis from RCMart, and I have some extra Etec Li-po’s. Where to find an Iwaver EP ?

If Kyosho and in particular their Mini-Z range wish to retain or expand their market share (three cheers for the almighty dollar) , they will surely follow the same path that has been trodden in the 1/10th nitro market. Great Vigor used to make nitro sedans which were only two wheel drive. Basically they were lemons, but to try and grab some of the market from Kyosho, they added 4WD. Nearly all companies are now concentrating on producing ready to run cars (for the mass market, not necessarily for the serious racers) which have the mandatory two speed auto transmission. GV (BV1), Associated (NTC3 RTR) and Kyosho (FW-05T Plus) now produce RTR cars which include such previously luxuary items as universal shafts and alloy shocks as standard. Kyoshos’ FW-05T Plus range are a case in point. Ready to run, with radio installed, painted body, glued tyres, unis, alloy shocks, two speed, turnbuckles, RRR rear hubs………… And all for a retail price less than the standard and comparativley pedestrian V-One S and FW-05S series’ kit (Mechano set with no radio) cars.
Now that Kyosho have manufactured a viable 4WD system for the Mini-Z, It would be difficult to imagine that they would take the retrograde step in pouring heaps of time and money into the further development of new 2WD vehicles.
Personally, I would like to see them spend their time and effort in producing/including better radio systems in the Mini-Z series. Things like digital steering servos and further fine tuning of the steering mechanism would be money well spent. (IMHO)
And merc-blue, can you please explain consicely the difference between AWD and 4WD?

Why thank you.
I might just have to invest in one of those for my RC18BCool, I dig it. Looks like a good solid little 4wd. I might have to pick one of those up to do some messing around. The only thing I don’t really like about it is the motor setup. The direct drive is cool, but having the single long arm to catch the front diff is kinda limiting. It’d be really cool if you could make it twin engine, but that looks like it would involve some really funky gear linkage or relocation of the steering servo.
Nice work!

Hey Mr Micro. My AWD is in transit and I have ordered a couple of Skyline bodies to use for racing. So in a couple of weeks we should be over to try out your new layout. You will have to set me straight on what mods I NEED to make to the car, please.
Cheers
Glenn
yeah i email you earlier and i think i fried it..ima send it back to you to replace it. thanks
Thanks for the tips everyone.. and yeah my friend bought a x-2 speed light and he hook it up with the nelly evo and it fried the chips…i think that motor is too strong
The new Iwavers look pretty cool. Are they available anywhere or are they a “coming soon” type thing???
couldn’t see one in the store. I think I checked every category…
cool.. Where and how do I get one???
