    MY DDS tape!:D
    woo hoo!:p:p i done it!

and i figured out how to use the macro setting on my borrowed digi cam, so the pics look good for a change! the preload is adjustable but no damping. if i need to i can just put a little glue in the shock pivot to slow it’s movement. still waiting for springs for the front but til then i just did the springy sway bar mod. in the end i couldn’t mount the shock on top because the motor got in the way but it works just fine the way it is so i’ll leave it. the widened wheelbase works well at keeping it upright and makes it look phat! so i just gotta put springs up front, make new tyres and sort out a shell. hopefully the pics explain the mod better. gotta go now, feel the need to burn rubber (or should i say warm some vinyl!:D):8ball:

pork hunt, you don’t have to disturb the charging terminals on an enertec but big wheels mean you can no longer attach the car to the charger. so i made a custom charger,

    http://community.webshots.com/photo/104275236/104707710UBIyPD

i use this for all my cars that no longer fit on standard chargers. IMPORTANT!!! the terminals are back to front on an enertec compared to tomys. ie:

the RIGHT terminal on a tomy is +
the LEFT terminal on an enertec is +

the stock enertec comes with 2 x 1/4 AAA 70mah nimh batts wired up for 2.4V. they are 2 speed but no boost in reverse or when turning, easy fixed by replacing with a 1 speed pcb. outta the box they go a little faster than a stock tomy at half speed and when boosted they stomp all over them! it goes slightly slower than my dual cell with 2.2 and orange gears, both cars having same diameter wheels. in this project i’ve replaced the stock batts with 2 x 1/3 AAA’s. they fit snugly with very minimal internal chassis modding. in the end i don’t have to cut the chassis for steering, just limited the steering. the enertec has a much tighter turning circle so it’s not a prob.
as for video, i’ll probably die before i figure out how to shoot and up’ video files!:dead::8ball:

okely dokely my fellow microniums!! i’ve up’ed some more pics showing my progress to date.

it drives really well, nice speed. the hot wheels tyres look great but are a really hard compound so i’ll make some new ones outta spongey pen grips. but the hard tyres are lotsa fun, they give just enough on concrete to allow some pretty convincing drifting and great doughnuts (or at this scale i should say ‘lifesavers!). no suspension yet except for the h plate, i’m making a top mount micro shock at the mo’.:8ball:

i was wondering, what would a higher value cap do? and when you say higher value do you mean uf or voltage?:8ball:

i doubt it. i’m pretty sure that motors in series will only get half of the available voltage and current. but wired parallel both motors get all the juice:8ball:

    oookay!

if you cut the chassis like i said, you should have a nice flat section of plastic directly in front of the rear axle. i drilled 2 holes into that. i’ve bent the h plate 90 degrees so i can mount it flat on the motor housing with screws. IMPORTANT- make sure the screws are just the right length to screw into the plastic enough but not so much that they touch the axle. either file down the screws or add washers, more plastic. and if you ever ruin the thread on the plastic, apply a little superglue to the hole, put the screws in, and allow to dry. then undo the screws and voila! new thread! this is a pic of the h plate mounted to the motor housing,

and yep, it works a treat!:approve:
as for the front susp, i’m gonna add steel springs that a little fairy’s sending me in the mail!:smiley2: that will do for now til i think up something new.
and as for the top mounted shock…………watch this space:evil: i’m not calling it the ultimate suspension mod for nuthin’!!:smiley2::8ball:
