gears make a big difference.
tires make a little difference.
no idea about suspension, though if it helps the car maintain solid contact with the ground, then that will assist traction, which in turn affects speed/performance.Basing a track for home on a real track, or the ones in GT on the PS2 can end up being large in the total area, but short in the length of track you get to race on. For me personally, the more racing track and less grass/scenery areas the better.
Things I think that make a good looking track. Advertising on Barriers, and in the places that real tracks plaster advertising (Bridges, signs in grass areas, etc).
Bridges – ones you can drive over are great, but you need to work out your angles really well before you start building. Also pedestrian bridges, tyre bridges. They add a sencs of 3d to the track.
Scenery – realistic looking buildings, trees and bushes look fantastic, but sometimes this can be expensive to add, or tricky to make.
Lights – set of starters lights at least.
Additional vehicles – support crew, trucks, ambulance, etc.Thats my suggestions anyway
Yeah. When I orderred from them I noticed that too. Maybe it’s the handling part of shipping and handling that costs the most. =o)
Well, I sent the wife the links to the roof, the cars, etc (as it’s for her,and she’s the one with the credit card), so we’ll see what turns up.
Ah. Now I understand. Thanks man.
How much did it all set you back in Aus dollars?I didn’t see one with a Union jack roof. The misus would love one of those. Damnit. Can you tell me which model# that one was please TallDude.
I’d like to know more about that charge setup you have Jamie.
I have a dream… a charger that does 4 cars at once, so you know everyone in a race has equal battery charge – no more excuses. With everyone on equal charges for a race, and if the motor size and battery size are the same, then everyone should run out at about the same time. Nothing worse than having someones car die in the middle of a good race.
Top job man!
Yeah. Jamie. Tell me more. What sort of charger? What level of charge?
Yup. It makes it easier for them.
The site is based in the US.
A larger storage battery would increase the runtime with a motor like that, which tends to drain he battery more than slower motors.
The lkarger storage battery will require extra charging, and I don’t think any charger in a controller detects if the battery is full, they just do timed charges suitable for the standard battery.
Aaron… I vaugely remember reading that the guy who wrote that program was writing a newer version, but had no where to host it. perhaps we should offer to host the latest version for him???
Might attract new people.
Looking good man.
The Netherlanderthal Track?
The Flying Dutchman Circuit?Naming a track is a personal thing really. Name it after your home town maybe?
The Micro cars that lots of us seems to have, are actually quite a bit of fun. The cars, and the upgrades are all very cheap when compared to their bigger counterparts.
MiniZs are out of my price range too at the moment, and I’ll get some one day, but the Micro cars are keeping me well amused in the mean time.
I think you would find building your own from the rubber up would cost more in the end than just buying one off the net.
You can pre order that from HLJ too. I’m tempted, though I think I’ll wait till it comes out as a pullback.
September I think. Hang on… I’ll look again.
It’s on the web guys… you could look yourself you know. =o)
Release Date: 10/2003. Looks very nice too.The Ferarri set does not come with the Enzo body, it comes with 3 others. That’s a seperate car and controller. As yet it’s not a pullback.
The shading on one of the building signs actually looks like there are lights on it.
Te petrol station, the brickwork, the ast food place, his hobby shop idea. All brilliant work. It’s not a track, it’s a mini movie set.I’ll leave the orderring until you can pay me. It’s the wifes credit card, and she gets real stressed about that sort of thing. ok?
That track is absoulutely amazing! Did you all go through the page 1 – 8 steps on the making of. Man, they got some extrordinary detail in there.
I’m tempted to order some more bodies, why. You wanna share freight costs?
A little over $64 I think. Pretty cheap, because the Aus dollar is up.
Excellent idea. It’d look great. Be a damn lot of work in it though. Oh, and don’t fix the buildings down. That way you can make different tracks by moving the buildings around.
