How did you get google and microsizer.it site support? Keep up the good work. Make sure you give DaveF credit on your site for your one vs. one video. (sorry didn’t notice the intro probably does this:blush:)

brendan, primer will definately help when you are putting lights in your body or are working with a body mod or the body is several different colors when you start.

primer can be an issue:( When to use it and when not to. I find that when I don’t use it, the paint jobs look crisper and I don’t have to use as much paint for the top coat, but when I do use it I have to use more paint for the top coat.. I have a grey primer btw, may look for a white one in the new year? Ph2t congrats on the 1 K posts:)

One other thing, as I may have mentioned somewhere else in this forum, I do like to use primer on body mods as it gives you an idea of what your final paintjob will look like, ie if you need to touch up the body work or not (sometimes when you are working with a body and different colored putty it is hard to see sometimes if you have it smooth or not, but once it is all one color you can see the lines better). And this is from someone who has better then 20/20 vision:shy:.

Well, that is one way to do it. I do think if you go thru with this you could have some sort of bi-annual email for subscribers, as well as enhanced member gallery and personal options (so those who do subscribe can set up the way they see the site with some cool personalization veiwing options) This would not take away from those of us who don’t want to subscribe as the extras will not be seen by other members except in the members gallery.

Another way to do this is to host a donation thread, where the amount is left up to the member, if any is given at all. In this type of case I do think that the bi-annual email should still be given out to those who donated (any amount) Just to let them know what is happening/ and will be happening on site.

87053 and 87052 are the two I used. Sounds like you have the basic type, 87053, which should be kindof liquidy, and grey? And yes sanding, just like in a 1:1 car helps adhesion of the epoxy/putty work better, although the basic putty will take to unsanded surfaces as it tends to eat paint (alcohol based) anyway. Again for any big additions to a body I would suggest purchasing some epoxy putty, save you a lot of layering with the basic type:)…not that I am speaking from experience;(

Depends what type of putty you are using. I have only to date worked with the two tamiya products the epoxy and the alcohol based putty. The epoxy is more or less the same idea that you use on your car where you mix two compounds to get a reaction that hardens. Tamiya makes a fast and slow dry epoxy putty, I used the slow dry. This allows you heaps of time to shape and mold the putty. For the ford (first one I did, pics in gallery) I just gobbed it on and filed/sanded off when it dried. For the Hyundai and the Citroen, I used it more sparingly and tried not to waste so much. Most ppl will suggest pre-sanding the surface prior to applying the putty, as does Tamiya, on the box… but in Japanese:(. Once the epoxy is smoothed down into shape, I used the filler alcohol based putty. Good for small jobs, but not solid enough to hold shape on its own, use the epoxy for this. This putty dries fairly quickly, but I still gave it a few hours to enable it to harden. This putty is also easier to sand/file then the epoxy putty. I made the back wing of the ford with the epoxy putty, but would not attempt to try any bigger stand-alone wings without the use of wire, as recomended to me by my local hobby shop. As for a body mod to try, I was going to try to duplicate what they did at Bit Char-G Grand Prix with my Gloria shell. Looks like a very doable body mod, but for me I have too many others I want to do first. Use babelfish to translate the page, and I wasn’t going to try the crazy paint/decal job they put on their bmw:) Here is the link to their page..

Well up’d some finished (painted) pics of the cars including the focus in my member gallery. Will post some more pics of all angles etc.. asap which will mean that I will have to move the walk-thru to webshots or some other picture hosting site? Will let everyone know when/where it is. Had an thought to enter the bit pimps contest that ends today, my time, I think? but most likely will not:( Would really like to get the decals on? Anyway let me know what you think? Would like the feedback +ve or -ve, to help with future projects.

Do you have a b4 pic Z? Nice looking so far. Have you seen what danyprat (I think it is him if I remember right… sorry if it isn’t, up too late:( ) is doing with the modena? What did you use to do the air funnels and how long till you got it right?
