how could you ‘bang one up at work’
Quote:Kitsune, thanks mate, it helped a lot….and so did the heatsink theory….ph2t, you really love using those initials dontcha? lol….
Charlie, do you leave LipStick stains on everybody’s dick??
Um, don’t lose anything, it’s pretty straight forward, but the PCB is soldered to the charging tabs….
Just remember these motors have an iron stack that will rust if not treated with wd40 (if the get moisture in em)
I cant get close ups, cause my canon A75 does horrific macro shots.
To take the PCB out, you have to desolder the charging pads….
it’s an intermittant proble wills, so i’m gonna resolder everything, and check for any obvios problems….
Mini Z’s, IWavers and XMODS are all the same scale. Neither of the 3 will cope with roads unless its bitumen like at templestowe race track.
The mini Z and IWaver do approx 18km/h out of the box, the XMOD does about 12kmh as it lacks gearsets in stock form, so dont let that put you off, as the XMODS have an All Wheel Drive option.
You will probably barely ever play with bits again once you have one of these.
You could go with an overland for rougher terrain, or a mini madforce/mini T for rougher stuff, the mini T is a true offroader.
They are about $30
Umm if you dont mind sacrificing the rear wheels, cut em.
Remember you must use kitt racer gears as BCG gears are too large for the front wheels.
The cars look much better with smaller rears.
I’ve got a tv to fix, and just worry that the capacitor might still be charged…
Wills, you’re a mine of information….
Yeah templestowe is a fogey farm, the oldies there goto bed at 6pm and don’t like loud noises = nitro cars…
merc whats “molex”
Just wondering, why the troy lee stickers?? They arent very automotive….
Gawd i’m a picky cunt aren’t i!!
BTW, is that the colour of the plastic, or is that paint, cause it’s a sweet job!

i worked out a simple way to make a ball diff, but the mechanism to retain tension in it was the hard bit to figure out….until betty suggested magnetism!
Z-beam, why do u need 4 differentials ina car??
The whole car isn’t gonna last long
Oh, sg, if i send an 11t pinion with a motor, do i atlest get the PINION back?? These are unavailable in asutralia and are freaking hard to get…
Wow, i am so in, when the hell is the comp ending??
Would be fantastic for research…
I’m definitely getting the monster, then i can bash the hell outta it (who would bash a kyosho?? :D) and use the Tx for my 1/10 scales etc….
They have been out for a good 6 months atleast….I am spewing that my panther doesn’t even move anymore….
But for racing bad handling ain’t cool…..
Just bought some hopups wills, lightened aluminium flywheel (need it for racing), carbon fibre disc brake, (needed it and couldn’t resist), turnbuckles (need these badly), a set of proline bowtie M3 tyres with inserts….
I desperately wanted a set of CVD’s, but the only ones i could find that would first were the kyosho ones at about $65 a pair…..
Will truck tyres and wheels give any advantages, wouldnt the increased ride height hurt handling??
Ah, i was excited there for a second….
we’re onto our 5th….
These bearings have relatively little load put on them, and dry bearings last ages anyway. Bearings are only $10 a set so i see it as a cheap performance mod.
My process is:
-Put them in a container of petrol, and shake em for a few minutes, leve them for 30 minutes, give them another shake. Then dry them on paper towell.
-I repeat this about 3-5 times using FRESH petrol each time.
-I then thoroughly dry them by shaking them in paper towell, and leave them for an hour for th remaining petrol to evaporate.
-Finally, i spin them for 5 minutes on mini Z motor shafts, i refuse to use a dremel, because the vibrations from a dremel can destroy my tiny 0.5mm balls
:clown:. And i have done it before, the mini Z motors run very true with negligible vibration, and are much nicer to your bearings. Then i chuck em in, and make sure they roll nicely (i.e. the rear axle rolls for almost 1 minute with a flick from your finger)
This mod can see a 10-15% gain in top speed, also, setting the gear mesh with paper shims can see a performance increase…..
