There ARE videos of it in action…

    and

I have no doubts of the popularity, it’s great value for money. It comes 100% RTR.

In the box there is absolutely everything you need….the downside??

The charger is an 110v Merikan charger….

    The kit comes with:

    -Preassembled truck
    -Pre-Painted body
    -Installed ESC
    -Installed Futaba Receiver
    -Installed Futaba Servo
    -Futaba 2ch pistol Transmitter
    -DTX 400 class motor (big)
    -DTX 6 cell 7.2v 2/3A 600mah NiCad pack
-8 AA alkaline cells for Transmitter
    -110v wall charger :dead:
    -Decals

Thats great value for $199 US, but merc blue and myself think that the price may drop to $150US for christmas.

    That video action is awesome.

If they do drop to $150US (cross fingers)- it’ll be bloody good value. If shipping is say around $50US each to get them here – it works out to just under $300 AUD which isn’t too bad at all considering that it’s ready to run. That’s just a touch more than a kyosho mini-z monster truck when they first came out.

If a group buy of this happens around christmas time perhaps we can get a better price.

Hey Aaron could you arrange another group order for us sydney peeps.

i for one would like to get more things off toyeast. if it is possible can we do the same type of deal as last time?

    thanks:smiley16:

I’ve got a few things that I would like too. Like some i-waver shells, motors, springs, and tyres and also a mr02 rear motor pod if they ever get that in stock again.

    🙂

    kevsta,

A, it doesn’t get released for about 5 weeks.

B, it’s very potent and well equipped as standard. Just watch the videos on the DTX site.

C, the hopups you’d be needing is maybe a quicker motor (it has a 400 size stock) and maybe an ESC to match, hopefully ProLine will make a range of tyres for it, also turnbuckles and CVD’s would add a little more tunability….

Other things like springs/different silicone shock oil could help tailor the handling to a given surface…

Just wait and see though, if a vehicle becomes popular, so does the aftermarket range, therefore the hopup company has found a nieche, at the moment, it ain’t popular because nobody has one…expect DTX to release alloy parts…

Sounds impressive. Will have to wait and see how popular it’ll be before deciding to get one, or better to get some reviews/videos of it in action.

    🙂

that’ll be a little pic of my Au Cerumo… sweet. Dont worry, pics are in my pc as we speak, just gotta upload. Cheers Kev, they came out awesome. Those two people TD mentioned will be joining Aus soon…

Good to hear you got them. No ‘au’ after ‘.com’.

I got the video of that guys (what was his name ?) rx8 nitro car running as well as Tall dude’s rc air plane – boy does that thing go high – you can barely see it in the video.

Just need to find a program the encode it from mjpeg to div-x (anyone have any ideas on where I can find a program to do this ?).

Good to see some new people there with the same interests and as keen as we are.

    Who have you asked…

I’ve phoned around to some carpet places plus clark rubber because they have a small carpet section as well.

When I mention ‘ozite’ they say they’ve never heard of it.

    Also google is my friend.

kevsta, speak of the devil!! does your GT3 shell take wide wheels? ..and where did you come across a metal motor clip that fits a stock plastic mount? ps, blew up my damned peugeot (real car)but hope to get down to meadowbank sometime soon; anyone sorted a track for down there??

That GT3 body came with my ready set which was narrow wheels alround. However, the later tourer type porsches eg. taisan come with wide rears. You could dremel the inside of the wheel arches I guess if you really want to run wide rears with it.

You’re going to bring back some bad memories of it being run over by the bike.

That metal motor mount clip is available from most mini-z online retailers.

How did you blow up your peugeot ? Who were you racing with this time ? 🙂

Pete, I think it’s called ozite racing carpet.

Which isn’t available here it seems.

However, having said this, there is a mob down in melbourne that specialises in the manufacture of automotive carpet – I think it’ll be the same carpet used to line the car boot. But I think it’ll be pretty expensive. So that is why I think it would be more economical to look at felt like carpet or material if available in large lengths and widths.

How about visiting some of Sydney’s local carpet places ? Buy some “felt” like looking carpet, then get some of that white foamy stuff and adhesive velcro strips and be done with it ?

Or we all just buy hosing or rope and join them up ?

thanx N-hawk, broke my plastic motor clip so this should be the way to go! i`ll ask around with the sydney/meadowbank guys and see what i can come up with. ps,what is done to the modified motor mount, and where`s your side of the fishing hole?

I know the feeling, I broke mine the yesterday as well, simply trying to take it off and the clip just snapped .

Fortunately, I had a spare one of those metal clips that fit on the standard motor mount :).

Another group buy would be good – but who with ? bithed ?

Excellent, he’s back. It’s been a bit dead over on the courts lately I must add with only a handful of us turning up.

Geo-z, we’ve all got turbo and standard cars now… so you won’t be alone with that whisper quite ultra fast z of yours.

    😀

Im guessing that motor is for FETs or a Turbo??

The way I read into it, is that they don’t mention fets or turbo required. Then further say it is for all i-wavers and z’s. They only compare it to the kyosho x-speed motor…

    But who knows…

I’d like to order one perhaps next month or so, already depleted the rc budget for this month.

So has anyone got one of these non turbo motors yet ?

Wouldn’t mind hearing a review of it compared to the kyosho x-speed.

I’ll be there as long as it doesn’t rain.

I’ve got a new motor that’s begging to be run in the benz – not a pd. Having issues at the moment getting the 12t pinion to mesh properly with the spur gear.

My skylines been lowered, and I’ve cut off the front spoiler off of it with the dremel – because I’m sure it would affect handling/performance when it scrapes the ground.

dgs, will bring those rear damper springs that you wanted.

Who keeps bumping this post ? Forum Rule #101 says no intentional bumping of posts.

I am familiar with the adjustable model and agree that it is probably one of the best out there. But I need one that does not hang lower than the stock low-mount for my application.

The one I’m wondering about now it this one:

    Thanks,
    N-Hawk

The one in your pic looks identical to the TopCad alloy motor mount.

I am having serious trouble believeing those dyno results…..

Hmm… 60,000 rpm under no load sounds impressive and the design being patented and all..

Still, I’ll end up buying one anyway just to see how it’ll go…

no man these are the digi q clones, they shoot a infra red beam which disables the other tank

real fun, esp when been drinking LOL

this is true… there is a quite a bit of stuff in the box, you can set up a “battlefield” on any table, etc. which will make hits to your opponent a little harder to pull off. The adding of alcohol to the mix just makes it that much more fun…:smiley2: I’ll get the grog, see you next week:p

TD’s bit track would be a great battlefield, all that rugged terrain and forest just waiting to be trampled over by tanks…

They look like yabbies to me, big ones at that.

    On the subject of slang…

There is a scene in Finding Nemo where the dentist says “I got to see a man about a wallaby…” Next scene shows the toilet flushing…

Is this slang like “I got to go drain the snake ?”.

I’ve never heard of those slang terms for money.
