a quick question regarding these new pn mounts…does the motor attach via two holes in the front of the motor can?

aye a 4wd mini-z would be great!

they are tough those x-mods, but the two ive raced with (betty.k’s) were not stock at all. ask him how much has really been done to it to get it to run well…

as for a z, even though they come from japan the parts and produce are easily available here. cant say the same for x-mods even though our two countries have no language barrier and all those trade agreements and strong political ties.

when i broke that plastic front knukle when betty “tapped” my car from behind i was stationary at the finish line waiting for the x-mod to come around for another lap. that straight is huge and downhill slightly and the x-mod was at full speed.

sure the knukle cracked but did it stop it from running? nope! a body clip snapped off, but did that stop it? nope (with a little super glue :smiley2:)…

ive ran my z into so many objects, i have let a 3 year old drive them into walls at full speed. my sister (20 y.o) ran one into a rocking chair even. scratches , sure! but brakages, very little to none…

now either ive been lucky or others have had a hard time…

but even saying all this i would love to own an x-mod that performs as well as betty’s did that day… i reckon they should sell em like that and then there would be two mini scale racing platforms out there…

i tried a set of hard compound tires on the car and they stayed put. some freinds have scouted a local netball court set up that is similar to what the guys have in sydney:D so i should have a proper go this week…

putty is fun! how much to you pay for yours zen? for two 10 cm strips it costs me $15 aud…

sanding went well last night but to get it all smooth in the recesses i had to shave it down using a scalpel, turned out well!

some of the parts off them would be great to use as details on a z, but that weight sure stuffs up any chances of a good driving r/c…

ive only ran 1 setof batteries through it so far… lost a tyre within 2 minutes, soft rubber compound tires just stretch to much and fly off! i might have to get a set of the foamys Aarons got to stop that:smiley2:

the “black” motor cost $2 … i still have the box/ pakaging if anyone wants to hunt them down..

thats coming along awesomely! i have a shelby gt-500 sitting on a shelf in kit form awaiting the treatment to convert it as a mini-z body.

ill post some pics up later of the kit if you want, i really like the changes youve made from the original disign. cant wait to see it painted!

hey talldude, ive allways wanted to do commisioned work when it comes to art. i did a fair bit of sculpting and painting (wish i did woodwork and more spraying through design and technology now) in high school and one of the ways of knowing your on the right track is if some one will pay for your art. the best thing above that is if someone will pay you to just create with few guidelines in place and be happy with the end result…

as for the gto, one day it will be photographed… but really i shoulda done it before handing it over.

its a product called green stuff and you can get it through games workshop. somebody has told me that another company makes it and GW just repakages it, in other words there is a better supplier of it than i have at the moment i just havent got their details…

thanks but resin is too brittle for actual use. i need a plastic kit…

1/24th it was… if anyone has ever seen toranas or older model commodores or falcons as plastic kits in this scale i am highly interested in purchasing them…

dont be down on yourself. a part of experience is messing things up, it helps you understand what is possible and what isnt. the worst thing you could ever do is not try at all, you surely will never create anything good by being scared of faliure…

:smiley2: so give it a go… and trust me its easier to work on larger scales than small ones…

yup, the chevy had about an inch cut from it along the green line to make it fit the longest wheelbase length of a mini-z with a standard h-plate. it is an AMD ertl classic cars kit.

the reason it looks a little blotchy is i sanded it again after the first coat of primer to eliminate some imperfections along the roof and door were the two halves met up. i also filled up part of the side detail where the line of the body dipped near the doors as it didnt appeal to me and i wanted a slightly more modern look.

cant wait to hear petes first reaction to the sprinter… he said he wanted it re-designed but im not sure he meant this far:D
