thanx betty! now all i need are some zz hubs…
exactly panda! thats what i was thinkin’. on some clear shells it would look mighty fine.
just paint as usual (on the outside) attach the smd leds to the inside and only paint the edges you dont want illuminated.
bastar ds! have you hassled ’em yet?
thanx, i look forward to the results…
a tape deck for a pc, thats soo retro.
and as for the clock can you read it panda?
nice idea, to just glue ’em on to bcg rims. wish i had a few to have a go with.
i think betty’ss got himself one, drop him a pm and maybe he could check for us.
i need some comparison pics! whats the dimensions of the superslicks?
i havent been using the racing stuff as much lately, thanx to a new stash of exelent ps2 games.
transformers rocks, war of the monsters is great, gladius is great rpg/strategy set in a fantasy history with teams of gladiators. and pa rappa the rappa 2 is just plain crazy s h i t.
me and my girlfreind like to buy games in big lots to avoid boredom.
i’m now being offered $5 for getting past a section in crash bandicoot! gotta go.
it looks pretty awesome betty, how much did it set you back in total?
the mini-z i own was originally abused by its buyer by driving it to its max speed on driveways and gutters. a freind payed $50 for it after it got all beat up by the dude.
my mate ended up giving it to me cos it was in such bad shape. the motor mount,h-plate and motor case were all cracked. most of the screws were all stripped. the shell had been trashed, and the idiots had tried to limit damadge by attaching foamy stick on pads to the front and rear.
i’ve fixed it yesterday and added a few extra home made bits to it and it goes real well. i’m looking forward to finding a large and smooth enough surface to see how fast it really can go…
so the bottom line, a mini-z is NOT for lumpy cement and roads… but they sure are fast!!!!
is that PINK primer!!!???
what colour you dooin it? stealthy matt black?
thanx Aaron. i’ll have a mini-z up and running as well as a few travelling bits.
it would be awesome to finally race you guys…
the only problemo is tracks…it seems the old days of aussie inventiveness are back. the dificulty of getting parts for these beasts quickly and cheaply are great incentives to have a go.
custom h-plates from recycled packaging must only be the start…
just do it dude. it’s the second best place to be at on the web for micro scale racing. just keep away from the silly twats. we really are blessed at ausmicro in that department.
what colour you going to paint it?
cool, have you had a look over at bitpimps for ideas yet?
betty, i just made my own h-plate. super flexi too. have you had a go at making your own yet using your bit suspension ideas?
my first one was waaay too stiff, the plastic was too thick. but the second one is made from the packaging of a 20 pack of eveready batteries.
nice one!!! i love it…
custom jobs are so much more rewarding…
i just repaired my z, the h-plate and motor casing were cracked. nothing a bit of putty and some plastic off a 20 pack of batteries couldn’t fix. a freind payed $50 for it broken and gave it to me for free… now its z-beams dodgy mini-z!
thanx betty for the home made h-plate idea!!! you saved me lotsa $$$.
that is awesome! have you come across the ultra violet led’s yet? i have two in keychains that flourese some minerals i have that contain phosphor. that and any flouro coloured plastic…
you’ve seen the monster over at bitpimps havent you?

heres a pic of a “bullet” clone…
the shells take a bit of work to get lookin good. but after a sand down and a few coats of some nice tamiya metalic spray they look real special.
ahh, the money i’ve wasted on buying model cars, matchbox’s and toys for this purpose… not one worked well.
you really are better off getting some cheap “bullet” style(the packaging) clones. that way your garanteed of at least spare tyres, a new shell and a chance of getting a nice yellow or pinky motor…
whats this about the hoezz? i thout this was ausmicro, not bitpimps…;)
its crap, about 40 secs…
i’ll have a few more goes at it now i’m getting accustomed to the rally style races. i made one last night during a blackout (laptops are awesome) that is pretty decent called bezza. i might put it up tonight.
have a look at last nites effort… took a while but it is worth it…

here you go, aussie action is up…
what are you after lobster?
hobby world at the marigold arcade in china town is the best retailer of bcg’s i’ve seen in all of australia. when i was down there last they were havin a 30% off sale. no motors or hop-ups tho.
i have got two shells from them, but none there last time.
internet is the best source of parts tho. wether through barrell, trading direct or the incredeble toyeast. have a look around the web… i’m sure you will enjoy it. -
