ohhh Bearing specialist – make sure you nkow the inner hole diamter, out diamter and thickness of the bearing…

From there you’ll be able to home in on the best solution.

You can do searches online of some bearing makers catalogs to get part numbers 😉

Jamie, you’ll spend a stack of cash on your 1:1 but you’ll always come back to R/C becuase it does something 1:1 rarely ever does, and that is give you complete free-form entertainment.

*nods* I would say though that for the most part these days the retailers wear the smallest cash risk, the wholesalers/importers carry the can for warranty, promotion and distribution.

The problem with the Woolies (DSE/Woolies/cheapassh!t shops) model is that they bring in a container load of items and try sellign them as a ‘premium’ niche product, then when that dies down they drop the price slightly and retail it at it’s new price point and byt he time their 72 foot long shipping container is sold they’ve destroyed the market for simialr items.

Youd be surprised at home many people loose interest in Micro R/C just becuase of a poor quality clone car.

Then again you’d be surprised att he risks the same big companies will make. Many clones I’ve seen in Australia almost certainly would be illegal, in breach of various laws/rules about radio controlled equipment… small companies can’t runt he risk of doing in against the rules. The large ones can cop the fine and the loss, small guys can’t afford the testing fees (an example not RC, it costs about $20000 to get an already in manufacture, fully compliant to stricter codes than ours telecommunications device approved for legal sale… And that doesn’t even transmit radio waves by design!) up front hence we miss out or have to put up witht he cheapest possible stuff coming at the worst possible price..

It’s a trade-off ont he knowledge level, people learn by asking questions and showing what they’re doing. Likewise ‘old hands’ may learn about different ways to interpret the ‘problem’.

On never does stop learning, and indeed it’s a great honour to be able to help others do that as well.. (damn look at me I’m sounding all corporate now)

Also sometimes things fall through the search engine gaps, and threads need to be re-started just to keep the turnove of info happening. When I was doing the restoration of the site I was amazed at how far the hobby has come, and how things we thought would be ‘nice’ 2 years ago are becoming relaity today!

The Tx/Rx frequencies can be swapped to get up to about 12 people running at once. This does require people to have multiple sets.

(Side thought, maybe a web based registry of crystals people already have so if you need to buy more you can buy ‘less common’ ones)

I don’t know of a walk up pay type place anywhere – but there’s nothign stopping a group of peopel hiring a school hall for a couple of hours.

The raw kit and nothing else – I then added in a bearing kit, radcio gear and a shonky ESC I had laying about the place.

I really need to to dig the car out of the garage and give it a spruce up. I think a new ESC and a new motor is in order. Probably a new bearing set as well.

Yeah – they’re become agressive in the marketplace again.

I can’t wait for some fo the new cars and trucks 😉 I would love a monster but reality says unlike your fleet of 3spds Panda the new trucks are just ‘hack around paddock bashers’ that are probably too anti-social to run in any of my local parks.

Perhaps a Wild Dagger would be a nice crossover 😉

merc-blue, I think Kitty picked her’s up on Ebay for some crazy low price (USD60?). Stella Models is a good reputable Tamiya seller on ebay in my expereicne and that’s the direction I pointed the Kitty.

I paid about $180 for mine plus delivery from RadioModels in Perth.

Yeah the reason it’s working for some peopel and not others (ie the ‘normal’ address doesn’t work for me) is becuase the Domain name hasn’t finished spreading around yet.

In the ‘old’ days of the Internet this could take as few as 7 hours for a Domain name change (the domain name points to the actual server location of the site, so when you move servers you need to change where the domain name gets told to find the site) now it seems to take a lot longer 🙁

BTW, colours and layout are 100% identical baring the Smileys on the left of the Quick Reply box, and the top buttons being slightly out of skew…

If you open your “Control Panel” you shoudl get the option to change your colour scheme… If not I’ll have to chase down the piece of code that lets you do it….
