mm brushed power.. I think I built me up one of them Plasmatomic items back in the day, still ran 4 cell Nimh, required rear GRP foams to get it hooked up, super fast (all in the low quality Iwaver02 lol).
Just logged in for the first time in ages, browsing through, found this..
Matt, hope time is lessening the sting of such an unfortunate event in your family’s life, this may be “just an RC nerd forum”, but you’re definately one guy who has the respect and support of all us fellow RC nerds.
Glad you got 9 years together before it happened 🙂Woulda PM’ed, but seems not available..
Just for anyone else that reads this thread
I damaged an Iwaver 02M board with 5 cells.. so be wary with 6..
Char-G Claw, and a Zip Zaps Monster truck (wearing a LifeLike slt car body)
my old slot car layout was perfect for running the tanks, a few hills and some roads to speed along.
Even did a spot of car crushing with the tanks hehe
Unfortunately I didn’t take any pics of them in action
epoxy, cheers for the link 🙂
I’ve got 2 sets of tanks, but can’t remember the brands.
One has moving turrets, the other is like a VS clone, bit faster.
sweet
cheers for posting the pics!
the NanoRacer quality is much improved over the older Iwavers (I have those as well). Still not up to Kyosho though.
However, the Tx is way beyond the Kyosho unit. The Iwaver 02M is good, comes with 4562 FETs standard.
Only mine doesn’t work any more 🙁 (failed Tx/Rx link).NanoRacer is like Mini Z, integrated 4 wire servo.
The only one with a standard 3 pin servo that I know of is the Iwaver 02M (IW01 has 5 pin servo – wtf? lol)
NanoRacer 2 is the best Mini Z (MR02) copy, I have one.
Mini Z MR02 parts are interchangeable (mostly), plastic quality is ok.
Bodies are good quality, and very robust.
Steering is a bit weak and sometimes jittery, but still quite driveable.
The included transmitter has loads of functions, very handy, I use mine for several rc models.
For roughly the same price you could get a Mini Z MR015.
better quality electronics/plastics.
Limited transmitter functions.
Nice, but more fragile, bodies.
Slightly higher centre of gravity, but unless racing probably won’t matter.
Get bearings either way 😉
just some more info to consider 🙂
Iwaver 02M and IW01 are both 2WD, so setting up for drift is very hard, and driving/drifting even harder.
Would try hard drift tyres on the rear, maybe same or hard rubber on the front.
I can powerslide a bit on my carpet with a RearMount Iwaver Skyline, at best it would border on drifting, limited control.Sounds like Gigspeed (the track in Melbourne) have cars and parts.
The IW 04M has been in the pipeline a long time, most ppl wonder if it will ever be in production. Mini-ZRacer.com has some info, but not much.
for drifting you’ll want a Mini Z AWD, but will cost more than $120..
betty means replacing the stock plastic bushings with proper ball bearings, much less friction = faster and longer run time.
Look online for bearing kits for whatever car you get, pretty cheap these days 🙂
you guys are so lucky this place “popped up” .
I was pacing the house all last night in a jealous rage.. 😛who/where did it all come from anyway?
CHEERS for the vid btw 😀
I have the stuff to make soft bodies for my slot cars, always had plans to make a couple for my Iwavers/Z’s.. then again I have LOTS of plans about making lots of things lol.. (mind you, some of those plans have happened 🙂 )
I use clear PVC film, not as durable but easier to form, much cheaper and easier to source.

But it makes me wonder if Aaron is OK.
yeah I had the same thought, considering all my orders through Ausmicro (I’m local) have been problem free.
Seems out of character, even tho I’ve never met the guy…
Still sucks losing money either way, if I had any FETs left I’d send ’em over (ok, I do have one left! )

i get back there eventually! :8ball:you must have a terrible life bk… with that and the track so far away lol
Merry Xmas to you and everyone else here btw!!!!!!!!!!
if you have a FET modded board, there’s a guy on here selling I-Pro motors for $1… or I’d bet the guys at Gigspeed racetrack have stock Iwaver 130 motors available (Box Hill, Station St).
re 1/32 dune buggies, you can eBay for the Tamiya Jr series of buggies, I saw the Hornet Jr version the other day..
wtf is INOX?
I do know of water break in for motors tho.I love your steering description lol
Use double sided tape if you want something a little more robust. If I’m gauging your personality correctly, I reckon you’d pull the gearbox apart regardless hehe (I know I would..) . Better to find dirt in there than a broken gear tooth.
Bloody Klims rained on my parade re the diecast build lol.. guess he had the same thoughts of a big heavy Datto performing long 2WD drifts..
here’s some more dots coz I like using them so much ………
I was too busy laughing at the bike seat that says “WOMAN TUNED” …
be cool to see your results!Seriously (as if..), I was expecting pics of the Jada diecast Datsun 240Z, must get myself one and Iwaver it.
