    that’s a sweet pic 🙂

from what I remember, the Egress was Tamiya’s top electric buggy at the time? All expensive bits. Don’t think I’d be game to race one!

I nearly bought a Vanquish back in the day..

PB, if there’s any video/pics of this event, can ya pls LMK?

I own a few vintage RC’s (Kyosho Lazer ZX, Tamiya Celica Gr.B, Tamiya Falcon, Kyosho LandJump, Kyosho Vanning, several old Kyosho monster trucks…. and more..)

Nissan R31 Skyline, odometer stopped at 434k many years ago, would have done around 600k easy by now. Still going (replaced/fixed many things though..). Also a ’73 Mini Clubman, complete with 10″ wheels (with hubcaps 🙂 )

If it’s got wheels or boobs, it’ll cause trouble…

I like trying to drift my Iwaver RM Skyline on the carpet, kinda works with the extra rear inertia, I reckon 4WD is cheating haha

    thanks CBS03

I’ve seen a YouTube vid featuring the MRCG racing, it’d very compe***ive.

Nice shell on your car, but I thought an Open cl*** would have soft (Lexan etc) bodies?

Speakin’ of YouTube, can ya post a vid of your beast in action?

hey dgs, get into HO (AFX sized) slot racing – then you just have your own track at home, keep the $5.50 for the RC lol

lol not for $7.99 they aren’t..

I spotted these too here in Perth, it was the Dakar Pajero that caught my eye. Didn’t buy one though, spent my money on baby food instead.

2WD, running on 3 button cells from memory.. Detail is quite good

have hit kerbs hard enough to crack my Firelap McLaren body back to the A pillar (they are tough bodies..). Other than several H plates, these things are pretty durable considering the excessive speeds we run them at.

nah none of the kit box stuff, just the buggies alone. I’ve only ever run the Avante coz it’s the one I like least lol. A slot car track is one of the best places to run one on, either try n do laps or add a few ramps etc.

Train racing is an idea I had a while ago when a mate was getting into them, but the mass carnage doesn’t appeal to train fans…

The Fast Trax does run on it’s tracks, sounds cool when it wheelspins.
It’s not on the vid though, the vid is of our Restricted Open slot cars, much faster than standard.

I agree with what you’re saying re the lack of steering, but nothing beats the speed of these things. And nothing beats organised racing, whatever it is lol .
Extremely cheap motorsport, can enter the Stock class with a $20 car.

have answered my own question: bought a pack of FETs thru Ausmicro shop (THANKS Aaron 😀 ), did an ugly install/replacement job.

Am pleased to report I have my first ever working genuine Kyosho Mini Z (MR015).

Throttle is way to sensitive though, will try driving it with my Firelap (Inopo) radio to tame it down some.

a strip of FETs from ausmicro shop is cheaper than a turbo, and can modify more than one car.

Performance may not be quite up there, but is still impressive.

    placcy spurs

metal pinion (9t I think), mainly because it has a set screw to hold it to the shaft. Have spun a few all plastic pinions..
