I don’t think you can buy a made in japan mr01 chassis now anyway.
With the second hand mr01 that I bought which came with the vw shell, was one of the earlier models and it’s still made in China.
Although I think my mr02 chassis is made in Japan, need to go have a look.
🙂
Icebreaka, I’ve got one of those rotary tools – it only cost me $25. The 105 piece parts set cost me $19.95. It’s no where near as good as the original dremel, but for cutting, grinding, drilling, sanding, buffing – it does the job.
🙂

Thanks for that Aaron !
Cheers.
🙂Icebreaka,
For some cheap 90 degree turns, how about buying some clear hosing from your hardware store and cutting them to size and attaching to the end of your pipes that way you could get any degree turns.
😀
Yeah the good thing about gmail is that you can get it to automatically forward any mail that it receives to your hotmail account or what ever account that your have.
There is also a mail notification utility that you download to your desktop that advises your of mail that has arrived as well…
Very nice track DGS and well thought out too… I really enjoyed racing on the track.
I have some foam padding about 3 inches wide that goes for something like 20 metres or so sitting in my garage. If you can some how wrap it around the pvc pipe with either adhesive velcro or elastic bands or plastic cable ties it can absorb some of the impacts.
Let me know if you’ve already got something in the pipeline, if not I’ll bring it with me next time.
🙂

Can’t browse ausmicro from work anymore.
Got busted. Site is now on the blocked site list. blackeye:
Thought I was pushing it a bit too much…:smiley2:
Roe, Can’t make it Friday night – got some stuff on. BTW which Bunnings car park do you race at – might pop by if its a close one ?
If Sunday’s heat is like today, I think I’ll pass out on the courts.
Mocky, is your Z fixed up yet with the nelly ?
Anyone got Geo’s mobile number ?
LOL TD, somehow I knew you would know what I was talking about…
Dgs, sounds good, pvc costs a bit – if you know someone that gets a trade discount at bunnings it would be good.
I think elbows/t-pieces are around $2-$3 each x 40 which comes to around $120 !?
A single straight is around $7 x 22 (assuming 8ft lengths) comes to $154 so all up total around $274
🙂
Quote:i’ve got shocks at the rear dood… friction, not roll though. And yes, the Merc is wider and lower, changing the centre of gravity. Still got the Kyosho roll shocks? I’ll grab em on Sunday if you still want to sell em… Will give them a try but I dont think it’s going to helpG10 O-plate offers more flex than the stiff CF one.:)
Quote:Kev; yes, plus the odd straight join and t- joins… the thing is awesomeI was thinking, to make the track have that ’round corners’ effect, should we use some of the thin eva foam mat that I have and cut out some curves and circles and use them for track over runs (is this what they’re called) ? We could place adhesive velcro and tie them to the corner pvc pipes so they won’t move, cars will still be able to run over the top of them because they’re only 2-3mm thick. And if really keen, we could paint a red and white edge on them too.
Just a thought, let me know and I’ll bring them on Sunday.
I should be there as well this Sunday. Got the F355 running again, can’t wait to try it out on the track.
I got to bring a chair as well on Sunday – can’t handle standing around all day.
Had some time to myself this evening and unwound 20 turns from a stock motor in a hope that I could get the performance of an X-speed out of a stocker. It drew 0.8A at startup and 0.4A noload and 0.5A on load. Unfortunately it didn’t go as hard as my x-speed :(]
So is the new track made from pvc pipe and elbows ?]
Man that’s not even the pro version. Have you got the pro version as well ?
Looking forward to seeing it run dude.:)
Poor Kangaroo. Didn’t see what hit him.
Quote:Quote:BTW – it’s does not conduct. I checked it with my dmm for resistance and didn’t get a reading.Carbon DOES conduct but remember, it’s covered in a layer of epoxy resin..It will screw up radio reception….
Yeah someone told me that the washer for roll shock’s upper cf plate was metal so I had to test it for myself.
So if your antenna were to touch the upper roll shock cf plate which is connected to the metal roll shock, which is connnected to the bottom cf h-plate, which is connected to the alloy motor mount which touches the motor can… high risk of Sizzle Sizzle or no Sizzle ?
Quote:it’s an mpeg4 variant of some sort. it’s recorded off my imate http://www.imate.com phone/pda (pocketpc brick thing:)it plays in on my pc in windows media (noaudio), quicktime (with audio) & on the imate np. its strange cause the last vid that u posted 4 me was also mpeg4…..
