my mr02 used to do that but that was because i had grit in the servo gears. i do a fair bid of outdoor driving. there was a microscopic rock lodged between the teeth. took me ages to find it.

maybe its worth giving em a good clean before you mess around with the pot.

    so here is my V1.1

changed the orientation on the car for a neater and shorter control wires, and the mosfets to the lower resistance/higher current ones.
    the stats are P chan = 8.2mOhm at 4.5v and N chan = 3.7mOhm at 4.5v
they aren’t the greatest around but its definitely an improvement. i could hear the motor was faster! oh and i also did a piss poor job at trying to mount the control wires through hole so they didn’t keep breaking my tracks. what a mess i made! lol.

damn it! i knew it was too good to be true… i guess its extra incentive for me to get my blue label turbo hooked up with mosfet drivers.

…is it just me or does ebay not really classify as retail therapy? if anything i feel worse! i’ve just blown $140 bucks and i have nothing to show for it!!!!

haha. well kinda but not really…

most of my time on the net is spent looking up new RC cars/planes/helis that i’ve never seen or head of. i prefer reading about what people have seen and used. helps me make educated purchases 🙂

PH2T, while i’m on the topic of education does this pcb need a 5v regulated supply to run lipos? have you done any investigation into the gate voltages?

3.1 internal? wow you have really been doing some serious design and testing. where does it fit? is it in the place of the old mosfets?

so is this board double sided? looks like you have some vias happening, or are they just for heat…

so what does this ” S’n’P ” mean? i’ve never heard of it.

    thats pretty impressive Aaron.

i have been looking at the 3 chip setup you were talking about. looks interesting. do gates tend to “pull high” or “pull low” or whatever? i guess i’d have to do some testing to find out…

well if you wanna get sliding get into the tyres. a set of drift tyres should get you sliding around the place. i guess the tight arse approach that will get you by for the moment would be some electrical tape on the tyres. might scratch up the floor boards though.

i don’t actually own an AWD miniz so the only things i can recommend are tyres, FET upgrade and motor.

i guess the hardest thing for me to get my mind around was the electronics upgrade(FET or MOSFET). i really enjoy electronics but had a very basic understanding till i started messing around with FETs. i guess if you don’t really care how they work then its pretty simple. but definitely get into a few threads and have a read

as for the batteries there are a few forums about the best ones. i think everyone agrees on the sanyos, but you should only start worrying about that when you are getting some serious power.

get into the ausmicro shop. Aaron has a massive range of upgrades. some of the motors don’t even need the electronics upgrade 😉

so which mini z do you have?

thats a reasonable price for the shell. looks like i would beat the hell out of it though 🙂

so how much is sh!t loads? i’ve asked for a price on a similar paint before but that was for a car. i think they called it a pearl or something. how many litres was the minimum buy?

    yeah thats true.

shit yeah! batteries last WAYYYY longer. i’ve still got the stock motor in though. before the upgrade i was getting about 4-5 minutes of drifting till it got very laggy and stopped going hard and got difficult to drift. i’ve been playing around for about 30 min all up on 900mAh sanyos and she is still drifting beautifully!

i like the idea of the templestowe meet. i guess it would be hard to pick a day in advance because we live in melbourne. i’ve been itching to get down to the track though. never had a chance to actually drive my little beast.

a question to all the guys that have been there, what day is better to go on the weekend? which day has less people?

shame about the mr01 Andor. i guess it gives you an excuse to buy an mr02 now 🙂

    saturdays? where do you work?

sat works for me. i’ll give you some better direction as to where these factories at that i can meet you at. not sure hot fun it will be though with a stock car. the large amounts of room might make you feel a little slow!

but i guess we will discuss it a little closer to the date.

maybe we could even head down to the track in Templestowe if anyone else was interested in a meet?
