hey guys its been a while… almost at the end of a really long trip into the back ends of NSW…
i smashed the front end in of my AWD pretty bad the other night, i think the plastic is just a little to brittle as others have said before and after inspecting it closely i discovered a lot of tiny stress fractures around the front steering assembly.
im in the proess of carefully reconstructing some of the more shattered areas from the hardcore collision but i reakon ill be on the hunt for a more sturdy chassis in the old school dark plastic (do they make these?)…
before i had the smash i had a bit of fun with aluminium piping and mesh in my toolkit and came up with some very simple and effecting front and rear sway bars to support the steering assembly. approx. 3cm of 5mm hollow aluminium piping fits perfectly between the stock steering arms of the chassis. they did the job nicely and totally eliminated any flexing that was occuring before.
the other thing i did was make a simple mesh cage for the motor. kinda in preperation for the hotted up pn motor i want aaron to sell me asap (still havent gotten a pm bro! i want to spend some cash!). i tend to give my cars a bit of a beating and so this mesh cage really helps put a bit of protection between the motor and the little bits of crappy gravel that like magnets.
i assure you, once i get back to the home, some pics are in order… i really know how long its been since i contributed some quality to the site.
id buy a mug! but thats about it… and id want to get it direct using a bank transfer as Z just dont mess with credit.

ive got an article in the works regarding chopping up 1/24th kits to make mini z bodies as well. im just waiting on the pro photographer to have a shot at the photos before i move to the next phase. its a mitsubishi eclipse… weird choice i know but technicly its a challenge cause of its odd shape.
ok, i want a pn motor in the smaller awd sized can with neo mags and bearings. just like the one i have for the overland but for the awd. name a price my freind! my awd needs a new power plant!

nice one Aaron, i tried so hard to get the standard speedy motor to fit but i couldnt do it. cant wait to get a dedicated nicer motor into my AWD. allthough i would have loved some neo mags in it!
for me i like to be able to pull a car out and pop in some fresh batteries and rip it up. the nice big cement patch outside gets covered in little bebbles from the driveway and im usually to lazy to sweep em off before i can drive on it so indoors is a bit easier. unfortunatly the best open space is either smooth tiles or smooth polished cement, which a 2wd car just doent handle to well on so the awd is my choice of quick fun.
sure the design is imbalanced compared to the 02’s but i never had an 02 so its a huge step up in performance and design for me.
drifting is entirely possible with low gearing on a low grip surface, and what used to be a spin out of control with a 2wd is easily recovered with power to all the wheels.
welcome back guys. the awd’s are awesome, they handle amazingly out of the box in situations that a 2wd one would be impossible for e.g slippery floors.

last time i visited you in canberra i think you mentioned something about this… well, im sure youll be keen to move on and get on with the future freind!
as far as emplyment options goes, emma is on the lookout for reps but not for at least 3 months. depends on how much traveling youd be happy to do and if you could handle commision based payment rather than a weekly regulated salery. from the ACT you could easily covor southern NSW and victoria.
does this mean ausmicro will go down? shall we be on the lookout for more options as a community to help out more and to pull our weight a little better?
hmmm very interesting… for the majority of my kitchen tile drifting area this might be fun to muck around with…
it limits power so that the front wheels have power going forward only? i dont get the point of an item like that..

yeah, id need to change the can of the pn motor. but i dont want to wreck my stock kyosho awd to get a proper sized can…

how many of you are considering getting started? if you all intend on keeping at a standard then keep the upgrades equal.

har! i really hope your being sarcastic! riding the rails was the most craptastic way to get around my bcg tracks… and also the best way to ruin paint jobs and drain the battery fast…
