yep its a blank autoscale shell
at the moment leon, tamiya doesnt make any “normal” colour shifting paint to my knowledge. any other brands of the stuff cost about $1000 per 1000mls/1litre, compare that to $10 for 100ml of tamiyas supply…
betty, its allready taken a few knocks… im not going to be scared of using this beauty! i just gotta show it off!
right now im setting two 3mm faceted iolites into the headlight receses… looks real nice! heres a pic of a hexangonal faceted iolite so you can get an idea of the colour… its a dichromatic stone which is grey on the y axis and violet on the z.in simple words its colour shifty as well… perfect match!

one more pic to show the side skirts!

i just noticed the bodyclips aswell, what did you do for the front mount?
cheers for the set you sent me betty!
girly colour for kitty! or are you claiming it as your own now Aaron?
happy new year all! had an awesome party on the property this year, nice and quiet with under 100 people.
i was too busy making sure i got to say hello to everyone to take any photos… theyre woulda been some good ones tho…azza, get what you can from the local supplier (ausmicro) its very well priced and the postage aint going to eat into your parts budget!
what else are you after?
i hope your first day back in the office was as good as how this car looks! im lovin it!
tamiya just released two new colours in theyre range of transparent effects. colour shifting metalic/pearly effects. the one i got (and used:smiley2:) was a purple/green, the other pink/gold.
im at the same stage with my newest project, the supra…
give us a hint!
hey Aaron, i’d love one of the roll shock sets for my mr-01 is there any in stock at the moment? im guessing no b cos of the lack of an “add” option.
merry christmas all… heres to new years!!!
you’ll get to see the stuff i picked up… a nice mini-z supra body!
hope santa was nice to everyone else…
“I feel bad for those who are not solder/electronically skilled to change over the FETs themselves.” yup, thats me!
the toyeast site shouldnt advertise like that… its bad! lucky i have a great online community i am a part of so that i can get this stuff sorted out… do you think kyosho would give a rats arse if i blew the fets through a dodgy advertised aftermarket motor… i dont think so…:dead:
mine is received! pretty fast considering it wasnt sent express… thanx Aaron…
the superbits where a huge let down….
mini-z became a real favorite for me, the scale is great for painting and driving them gives me grat enjoyment…
hope you fellas had fun!
japan made pete? i’ll definatly take it then!!!
p.s. where my pm reply pete:smiley2:
those energizer 850’s are piss poor chinese merchandise…
i have a few (4x aaa’s) and i was ripped off…
have a look at the current line up of photographic batteries… i purchased a nice set of japanese “kodak” batteries for the same price as the energizers (made in china) that are 750’s and punchy as hell compared to the 850mah chinese energizers…
japanese forever baby!!!
what sort of project were you thinking of ‘prez?
if you have a peak charger allready (like myself!) i wouldnt bother with this set up.
and from experience japanese batteries are ALLWAYS better, kodak 750mah are my favorites…
what where they out of stock of?
that websites a bit shonky, half the links are dead.
the second link works great however.

hey talldude, make some pvc’s for your zz monster! im sure that wont make as much mess!
what sort of batts are they? i have seen them advertised on billboards but no info was there as far as NiMh or ni-cad…
looked at the pakaging before throwing it away today, it said 1/24th scale… no wonder the viper body was so damn big…
sorry guys!
it was all good fellas! it was great to meet ph2t,betty and kitsune. woulda been good to meet more of the melbourne crew but im sure the hobby will still be strong for the trip next year! hopefully i’ll even get down there earlier…
my mr01 is one tuff b@stard surviving all that punishment, on a track as big as templestowe i think i caused more damadge to my own car in one afternoon than in a whole year (nearly) of owning it…
next time your there guys check out the car park of the nursury across the road… smooth as the track and nice speed bumps/jumps for the madforce!
it was made by a company called hua peng cosmo.
i had a closer inspection today comparing the viper body with a kyosho rx-7 i have, and boy is that viper big! i can almost fit the rx-7 inside the viper, i dont think thats a good sign!
still havent had a go with it yet, but i will probably use it for mucking about more than anything… and letting freinds practice on before they can get theyre hands on the real thing!
kero, the rear spring shock could be modified to fit the z,the red plastic wheel nuts should fit and maybe the front knucles and the weird looking h-plate might fit as well but i havent checked the diff yet or any other close comparisons because im packing up all my gear to make the long haul home in time for christmas.
dave, not home yet! and dial 1223 and get the number for your local toykingdoms. its a franchise set up but im pretty sure all the stores choose there own stock so you could get lucky.they have stores in n.s.w and queensland.
sure is tough! thanks to my “twilight stealth” paintjob on the wrx (tamiya undercoat) betty ran streight up the back end of it at full tilt sending the rex flying. it wouldnt have been so bad except the rex was sittin dead still on the finnish line while i was fiddling with a ciggy…
one front knucle and a bodyclip got done in! easy fixed/replaced…
betties x-waver can definatly hold its own, and speed wise was quite impressive. 4wd is a great change to 2wd on the track, the added traction sure does make a difference.
and finally, templestowe is an awesome track. if your ever in melbourne and want to test out your r/c’s give it a go! having a super fast z didnt seem anywhere near as good untill seeing it work wonders on a track of this size and quality…
