quest for madness was the best source in the original days of bcg for mods and information. its layout and composition as a resource page is what id be looking for as a standard.

if i had the time, and was in control of the ausmicro legacy id compile all relevant discoveries and tutorials and compile them in a similar style that isnt threatened by spammers and hackers. e.g. separate to the forums.

the only bcg motor ive managed to use without getting interference is a 1.0 from memory.. and the australian retail silver subaru wrx has a green capped motor, quite a bit more speed than the standard white capped ones.

the blue capped ones from the buggies are pretty punchy to, not as high speed as the orange cap motor though. and orange motor combined with the orange gears is very fast.

a reebok skyline will be way faster than the other cars you have so it wont really be racing anymore blur.

mods to get you started are carefully removing the cars shell and cutting away plastic from the shell to lighten it. making the car lighter in weight will increase top speed and acceleration slightly.

have a look at some of the other q-steer related threads and you might find other things to do with them

    spot on blur.

there is a blue ended motor that is available in the off road buggies. a little visitor took home my speed testing hot wheels car (couldnt take no for an answer i guess) a while back so i havent done any proper testing if it Vs. the orange end cap.

thanks for the story behind the pics panda, glad i asked!

considering what youve had to work with they are fantastic riplicars.

what did the owners of the real things think?

all 6 of the tomy/tamiya buggies? damn… did you get any of the kit boxes with the bagged parts in them?

the slot cars dont interest me much, the speed is fantastic but the lack of steering has allways turned me off. ever tried racing trains? could be interesting 🙂

and the fast trax slot car looks mad… is that the one that jumps the tracks and keeps going in the vid? does it really run on the tracks or has it got hidden wheels?

nice pics there! the r35 is a stunner… i love my q-steer version.

where the r/c versions all yours? how long did it take you to copy the real deals? and did you have pics from magazines to go from?

    the spam is horrible.

can we get a ban on the current offenders and add a simple check to new members like some basic hobby knowledge? or even a basic application process where a prospective new member must get approved?

got any wireless tech in your house?

or live really close to neighbors?

my old cordless phone glitched out my z’s even though the frequencies were very far apart.

could be, but i tested all the motors i had from bcg’s for about 30 seconds a peice and everyone of them was run in ( on the bcg chassis) and caused interference on the q-steer.

one of the best set ups available, and the best from using only q-steer parts.

if you read around here ive taken some photos of successful gear tests using bcg gears. also the tamiya/tomy micro buggies have a blue capped motor that fits the q-steers and runs nicely.

what colour is the high speed motor you found d1?

batteries hmm… you can buy silver oxide ones which last a little longer and have a tiny bit more voltage i think. best batteries are decent ones like energizers for a q-steer, watch batteries from a jeweler cost way to much and are over rated.

as far as motors go every bcg motor (bit char-g) causes interference ive found, and ive tested pretty much every one i own which sucked. some people have said it works for thm however.
they will make the care drive faster, but the interference plays havok with accurate steering.

ive been having a go constructing micro suspension for the front from plastic tubes and rods and not getting very far with the positioning.

also the rear axle could easily be repositioned to make the chassis longer. ive spent a while looking at all the options. not only would it make the car handle a little different but bcg shells might be the right size.
