Yeah mate get a car “specific” esc… I once had a plane esc on a car i made …. it had no reverse and also… yeah the response was funny as well … plane esc’s dont have to deal with as much Torque and stuff, just wind resistance really.
But not all car esc’s have reverse either … make sure it is specified in the features of the product. An esc that only goes one way can be pretty hardcore because the current only has to go one way…. so it can really be streamlined.
The mamba would be rad….. but theres way more hardcore ones than that.
Realistically though…. the mamba is tried and tested. If you can afford then get one.Do any of you guys play battlefield??
Here is one of my secret projects… Lol …. Its a sleeper. http://www.ausmicro.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=75
I wanted to do a brushless beast but i couldn’t justify paying the money for all the gear, as you can see i don’t even have an FM receiver.
Gonna put this 1/10 stuff in a micro rs4 or something later though.
😀I also recently got a venom night ranger 2… I have flown it 4 times…. I have crashed it 4 times … I was just looking for parts before so i feel your pain man lol. This chopper is pretty budget though.
oops
It’s not the chassis or the body thats interesting. It’s the fact that you can tweak the settings of your car using your pc. Has anyone seen this in action? What sort of performance tweaks can be achieved? Anyway it sounds like an awesome idea. I want one.

I’m using a mini-z controller as well. would that make a difference?
changed the pot and the servo motor to kyosho and it still does the same thing, even a bit worse. I noticed theres only one fet for the steering. Instead oftwo like on the mini-z pcb.If I use a 7317 fet instead will it work at all? The Whole servo is kyosho now so I dont think thats the problem.
King Oath mate! King oath.
thanks guys. you’ve saved me a lot of trouble once again.

Will there be any 1:18 scale nelly? I know 2 people who would definitely buy one. I cant wait to get a 1.3 tho. wicked! Nelly is Back:evil:
We wait with baited breath. Make sure there’s enough to go around:D. I’m interested in the 1:18 scale Nelly, what price are you planning to put on it? Anyway I’m sure you’re very busy right now. With money earned from Nelly’s you could invent a nelly for 1:1 scale cars roflol.:smiley2::clown:
$50-$60 more could get you a mini-z. Palm runners are piss weak. They run off 2 aa’s and only have 2 speeds… Flat out or dead stop (they aren’t digitally proportional). Even worse than that is the steering is the same. You could compare it to playstation 1 controllers before analogue capabilities.:dead: On the flipside they can be used to experiment on and if it has a shell that you want its the same price as buying a mini-z shell. With the added advantage of a cheap set of rims. To pay $99 would be foolish.
Mission Accomplished:smiley2:
Thanks man. I’ve just taken the stacks off and I have a finer tip so I’m going to start again. I have successfully soldered single fets on before but not a stack. The problem was my tip was too big to fit in between the stack of fets and the big black box next to them. I melted the side of the ‘big black box’ a bit. Is it possible that has something to do with it? Have I screwed up yet another Z? Oh the agony:dead:. If I mess this up I might think about seeking professional help. Here I go again………
And as for reverse polarity yes thats right but mine only go in one direction. When I say reverse I mean Reverse on the control.
I’m not sure exactly but that sounds pretty spot on because my connections are dodgy at best(my soldering iron has an enourmous tip). But what do you mean by “dry joints”. And how do you determine which side of the fet is which. Does the orientation of the writing determine it or the little dots that are pressed into the plastic? All I know is I have installed a 2×2 stack in my overland and if I put batteries in, without even turning it on it starts revving in reverse. turn controller & car on and everything works exept forward. should i just get a finer tip and start again? It’s driving me insane:sad::angry:blackeye::dead:
ahh…. thank you. why didnt I think of that myself:dead:.
Its gotta be the fets. But to be sure you should get a few different motors and try them. Also have you tried soldering on a different set of wires to the motor? (or just re-solder the ones that are there). Does this motors work hooked up directly to the batteries? Sounds like your motor has had the Dick to me. If motor is alright then it must be fets.
Thanks dude. I caught you just at the right time eh. I wait patiently. :smiley16:
Hey PH I hate to be a nag but when am I gonna be able to get a couple of those 1.3 Nelly’s off you. I’ve been waiting anxiously for your store to open again.:D Any News?:p
Mr02’s have a brake function. The funny thing is when we put the x-speed in it all we had to do to reverse is double tap the control forward (once for brake second time for reverse).
I dont think theres anything wrong with it. It was the same with my bro’s madforce when he first got it. What you have to do to reverse is push the trigger forward (as much as you want) then bring the trigger back to neutral and just pull it back about 1mm(but just tap it and wait 1/2 a second) and it should reverse.
Cheers for the info. I want the mz 02 but I’ll probably crash it into a wall and break it anyway.blackeye: Iw 02 is a very tempting option I must say.
