i’m gonna hook up a 2 x 1 turn motor with a 1:1 ratio!:D (swap the spur and pinion around!:dead:
we’ll be able to run our “slow cars” the week before during our test session!:8ball:that’s really hot! at first i thought the stones would look a little silly but now i see it i’m sold!:smiley2:
you gonna put lights behind them? how would light look through those stones?:8ball:my advice is to look at pics of cars with the shocks installed:8ball:
i think i know what you mean, that could work. give it a try:8ball:
your pcb is slightly different to mine so i can’t really comment. but on mine the main + and – wires are the other way around.:8ball:
might sound obvious but are your batteries charged to begin with? if you can put up some close-up pics of the pcb here it may help.
a dead short means the + is directly connecting to the – somewhere before entering the pcb, or somewhere on it. messy soldering is ok provided it’s not making contact with other parts of the pcb.:8ball:mine is on 1.2ghz too. i’ve never had any rc induced interference with any of my toys, provided the motors have caps in the right places. my aerials are the right lengths, i’m thinking about a coaxial lead to sit between the rx and aerial should be fine.:8ball:
and even if it all worked well, i’d have no chance of keeping something that fast on it’s wheels! i’m struggling with 35 – 45kph at the moment!:dead::8ball:
yeah guys, get a grip! it’s obvious they got people with no legs to drive cars that have been through a shrinkolater:p:8ball:

i got to see this motor in action. first, ph2t ran the nml in the iw02 on a track. it is fast and has decent torque. then he replaced the nml with the plasma/atomic motor. the top speeds were both too close to make a clear winner but the plasma/atomic had noticeably more torque. it went up the hill much faster than the nml.:8ball:
this should be a good one for the non rc literate to attend. the open class electric and nitro will be reason enough to attend. and by the looks of it there will be a special racecam booth!:D:8ball:
i used 9v nimh rechargables, i get a good 40 mins out of them and they’re light weight. i can also have one charging while the other is in use.
raising the aerial sounds good. and from memory my video rx can be used with your camera too so maybe we only need 1 rx setup, just twiddle the knob to swap camera:8ball:actually i don’t think that will work. the zz mt has motor driven steering, that’s why it works. i doubt it will work out with magnetic steering.
look for a chassis with motor driven steering and try a steering transplant:8ball:the quality of entries for this comp was the highest ever! pity those poor poor judges!:dead::8ball:
well that sounds like me!:D i should be free that night and i can bring my wireless along too. i can’t provide a camera car though, mine just wouldn’t be fast enough.
will we have mains power in the middle? i have a good filtered/regulated ac power supply that i’d rather use for the reciever. and we’d be able to keep the camera setup with charging separate.:8ball:bust it, fix it. bust it, fix it. bust it, fix it. bust it, fix it. 😀
all part of the job!:smiley2::8ball:
the rs4 mt is a pretty impressive package.

i got the baja bug version which comes with proline dirt hawg tyres and the bug body. the other version comes with a regular truck body and street tyres. so far all i’ve done is look at it so i can’t comment on how it runs.
comes with bushings so i’m waiting on some bb’s before assembly. it also has a slipper clutch, protective inner body, gear cover, oil shocks and has the same dual belt system as the rally. definately worth the bones, it’s a discontinued item so if you want one i’d look into it sooner rather than later.
here’s info on the rally
http://www.hpiracing.com/kits/rally/r-m.htmand the hpi homepage, worth a look for 1:10 newbies like me, lotsa setup pointers assembly advice even driving tips:8ball:
http://www.hpiracing.com/index2.htmhopefully this pic is clear enough, it’s an iw pcb with a nelly installed. the yellow arrow points to the trimpot i’m talking about. it has slots for a small phillips head screwdriver. do it with the car and tx switched on:8ball:
there should be a small trimpot towards the front of the pcb. center the trim on the tx first and turn the pot on the pcb until the wheels are straight enough. then do final trimming on the tx.:8ball:
looks like they corner well!:D:8ball:

wow, looks hot! i don’t think the colour shifting stuff is too subtle, shows up well.
whatever you do, don’t let me near it!:D:dead::8ball:i really like it too, even though it’s a girl colour!:D
it’s a shame the pearly stuff doesn’t show up well in the pics, in person it looks wild! really smooth work bloke!:smiley2::8ball:
dude, you nailed it!!
hehe, we’re finally gonna kick leon’s butt!:D:8ball:
