Might grab an F1 car, looks like theres plenty of room to do a tri/quad cell and mosfet mod, tyres are nice and wide.

Well mine had a fair bit of power, and bald tyres. Couple that combo with the fact that it doesn’t handle and you might get a faint inkling into why i crash.

OR maybe it’s just the driver.

Panda….good idea, just need to lock the diff and she’ll be sweet. Might make something cool with it, dunno how much power it can handle. I was thinking maybe twin motors (somehow) with a motor on the other side of the gearbox, with the 2 motor shafts locked into the same pinion.

The GH2 is an ageing chassis, the plastic will be more brittle than when it was born.

i mean im putting 2 800mah ni-mh aaa on the top and taking out the noraml bateries and sitting these 2 on top because i have a raised body for a monster truch they should fit

    Tip:

-Do not mix batteries of different chemical type and capacity, big no-no.

-More cells dont always give big performance, i.e any higher than 3 cells and its not much chop. The extra weight cancells out the power.

-A high centre of gravity kills all hopes of handling, thats why we do dual cell mods or mosfet mods.

I’ve never heard of a Tomy tool. What is it, how does it work and where can I get one?

    Mutters

If you buy a Bit Char-G body set, you will get a tomy tool, It has a pinion puller, body remover, heatsink remover and a couple of other things, including a lanyard clip thingy.

So it will be more like a 1/10 sort of thing.
Battery clips are ok i guess with low grunt motors, but when you start drawing serious Aperage, i think it matters a LOT.

Yeah i do, friction contacts have high resistance, also, the battery springs use very thin wire, if you stretched the spring out it would be quite long (there are 4 springs too).
Along with a FET mod it would be good.
The batteries should be soldered directly, and so should the motor.
Use low loss deans plugs between the battery and esc, and the esc and motor.

I’d love a full on downhill bike, XT gear all over, disk brakes, dual suspension, etc… but I’m a crappy rider, so I don’t deserve it. =o)

I have a Giant ATX 900 Pro, Its got Manitou Spyder forks, Shimano STX-RC/Deore LX components, RST 56 Rear shock, Amoeba DH bars, Azonic stem, TIOGA factory DH tyres, THE front mudguard, Velocity deep V rim, Giant/Velo VL3044 saddle (took me 2 months to track one down), OURY grips.

Leon li 17, If you use a NiCd battery (stock one) you will find no difference in charge, even if you leave it for days.

If you use NiMH’s its a different kettle of fish.
They discharge at a rate of around 2% per day, which really is stuff-all. They will eventually decay in performance.

Barto, not smart, just read lots.

Always use the tomy tool to remove the heatsink, we all have atleast 1/2 a dozen of these.

Wish i could get matched AAA cells for my mini z 🙁 Spose i could do it myself (to a degree) with my charger, but i don’t feel like buying lots of energizer AAA’s at $13 a pair 🙁

I am going to hardwire the whole thing with thick gauge wire….i.e. Lose the batery clips and friction contacts, the whole thing will be hadwired with Deans plugs to unplug the battery and motor.
