Yeah everything will be the same. It’s taking the guys a while to configure the new box for us (I’m making sure I can move the entire site and test it before moving the DNS points and the Databases) so we could be talking days 😉

Site Owner Guy.I have IRF7389s 24 hours away at all times if not in stock.
Surely an 8×2 stack would imply needing 16? Or are you doing something tricky?
A.
--
Site Owner Guy.*nods* that’s what I was finding too Jamie… glad it’s not just me thinking theres a load of gobbledegook about their amazing power handling difference!
On the face of it the IRF7389s are the better pick, cheap, (PM me for a killer deal Jamie) and easy to get rather than the Vishays which are much pricier!
--
Site Owner Guy.OK… The not cheapest price but first supplier I have a trade account with would let me sell them for about $7.50 each delivered anywhere. *ouch*
However retail for 8 units is $199.60 – so there is a saving there.
Mind you this same supplier wholesales IRF7389s at $6.59 (+ delivery) each when i source and sell them for $2.50 each delivered….
More as I find it.

Site Owner Guy.I’ll check my sources.. I’ve been supplying IRF7389s for a while and never had requests for these new ones 😉
A.

Site Owner Guy.Got any links for the SI4562DY install or is it exactly the same as the tried and true IRF7389?
A.

Site Owner Guy.OK – as Cabo said guys a bit less us VS them and a bit more ‘friendly’ competition here 😉
I’ve dropped Cabo an e-mail so hopefully we can start laying out some concrete ideas between us.
I’ve had a chat with someoen about some prizes and things could be quite ‘good’ for the winning crowd 😉

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* Guys I think that there’s some Valid point raised here!
I’m going to PIN this topic…
Keep nutting it out…
If someone from Bitpimps admin drops me a line we can discuss off-site some ideas 😉blackeye:
A.--
Site Owner Guy.mocky – I’ll check tomorrow – despite ausmicro.com being out of the selling game for a while we still have wholesale accoutns and sources so the shipping can be a bit less painfull.
Bithed (bithed@hotmail.com) sells these things all the time and is happy to supply – he may have a deal at hand that’s attractive to you..
A.

Site Owner Guy.*laugsh* Can someone in the know back up ythe correct answer 😉
Happy New Year to all :clown:
--
Site Owner Guy.mocky, Have a word with Bithed – and/or I can chase up a price for landing one on your door if you like… Any model in particular you’re after?
A.

Site Owner Guy.Some issues I see….
Members of Bit Pimps are members here and vice versa. No point starting site wars between what are arguably the best pair of micro R/C sites worldwide.
A trophy that could be partially ‘virtual’ as in bragging rights and maybe a smaller prize for the team members would be cool. I’ve sure one of the sellers of parts may be able to offer something.
Overall I think it’s an interesting concept. I’d like to think that we’d be able to do something fun and fair!
A.
--
Site Owner Guy.I wonder if the BitPimps guys will be using this as a basis of a competition?
--
Site Owner Guy.*nods* Agreed on the Arlec/Stadium… We have one in our work ‘group’ and I have to agree it’s tough, reliable and never does a bad thing…
I wouldn’t buy anything but a Sanyo based NiCd pack as they seem to be the best for a decent ($40) price range.

Site Owner Guy.Hippo Biffing Day Dude 😉
*grins* only 8 more of those and you’ll be staring down the last year before the big three zero 😉

Site Owner Guy.To add some things to the thread:
We’re running MazWebPortal becuase it has a code base that I can sort of work with and have access to resources to help me implement the Mods that make ausmicro.com ausmicro.com. There are many new developments in the code coming over the next year so it’s not all bad. Execute speed is tied into server grunt and code. The code is improving and I’ve done what I can to change the Database to improve things. Unfortunately we don’t have our own server so ‘grunt’ is a problem.
Users can change their colours now. We have 3 or 4 profiles set up With colours… Check your “Control Panel” for that 😉
Things I may be able to offer if we move to having our own server:
Full WWW hosting accounts for members (with FTP access)
Full e-mail Accounts
More/bigger galleries with a better front end system 😉Things I think we can do now:
e-mail accounts for larger contributers
Gallery system improvements (for users and overall)
Donors get no ads at top of page (but get occasional ‘premium’ ads bottom)Unfortunately I can’t offer ‘stakes’ in ausmicro.com to donors as ultimately someone has to carry the can for the site and that’s me.
All the code changes already outlined by micro_Amps is being built into the ‘new’ ausmicro.com code that should be on your screens by March/April in time for our second Birthday.
As much as I’d like to offer stickers to each paying member the upfront costs are huge! We’re talking about $1K to get a design up and running and on stickers and sent out 🙁 So until we have some serious spare cash sorry.
As for Donations… Donations are good. On other forums I’ve seen “Donations” threads run and I’ve seen a ‘Donors Only’ Forum running for the people that donate. Personally I’d rather people donate becuase they can or use an ausmicro.com sponsor, or use an ausmicro.com service (cat calling bag, situation out), to carry out a transaction. I don’t want to see people pushed for a donation, nor do I want to see donations ‘expiring’ (that is, get an e-mail address if you donate, but 6 months later donate again or loose the address) So Donors will be noted in the same way as subscribers 😉 – on a 12 month term.
Anyway – they’re my incoherent thoughts. I’ll leave you all in the hands of micro_Amps in this thread as I feel this is the best way for the members to get what they want 😉 I’ll only poke my head in to read the thoughts and confirm or deny possible changes.

More details to come!
A. (ausmicro.com on tour!)

Site Owner Guy.Dunno – I’m in Tas now! Something like one ‘burb away from DaveF and about 30 years behind the mainland 😉
Melb chewed through a lot more cash than expected so we may be running straight through from the port on the 5th (evening arrival) but not sure at this stage 😉

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* I find bringing my own Babe along is essential for holidays 😉
*laugs* I’ll give you a call once we hit Hobart Dave and see what’s shaking up 😉
Melbourne People….. Apparently on Friday night I/we are goign bowling and stuff at/near Crown Casino….
A.

Site Owner Guy.Yes Dave I have your Home phone in my mobile…
Hopefully you can act as a medium for some of the Tassie ‘mob’ while I’m on the road 😉

Site Owner Guy.Jamie, just don’t get in the front of the Kidney selling queue before me… How do you think I pay for the car?
Seriously though – Thanks for the words of support everyone. You’ll be happy to know that ‘behind the scenes’ we’re looking at things we can do to make donators feel special….
Just remember at NO STAGE will ausmicro.com force you to pay money – or ever set a limit on useage, we may however offer extra services to people who do make contributions.

Site Owner Guy.Moderatorish Voice:
ausmicro.com welcomes anyone and everyone if they are willing to be part of our Community. In the new year me and the Moderators will be having some hard chats about how we can ‘retune’ some of the forums and the like to make the naming a little more sensible and easy for people to work out what goes where…In the mean time stick to the basic rule of thumb: If its Bit Char-G sized then it goes in there 😉
A.
--
Site Owner Guy.Jamie – we’ll smuggle you in if required… seriously unless the laws are different in Tas compared to everywhere else I’ve been you’d be allowed in in the company of adults and as long as you don’t booze up or smoke you’d be sweet 😉
I’m sure it’ll be fine!

Site Owner Guy.Just remember back in Sept 2002 Motor got most of the details of the Turbo wrong – and that was only 1 month prior to the cars release….
I look forward to seeing what’s going to be here in 3 years… Although by then I may be thinking GT 😉
