Tamiya Mini4WD motors are:Hpyer Dash (slowest of their ‘hot’ motors)
Ultra Dash (mid-range)
Plasma Dash (Top range – best!)I’ve seen these in most online stores just never knew what order they went in for performance.

Site Owner Guy.NAh – I buy my 1/10th parts from a shop in Perth who does pretty reasonable prices and mail-order.
For most parts I would have to say that buying from the US is just not worth it in price.

We already have development and expertise with MiroSOT class Robot Soccer and this is an extension of it.
I will be seeing if ausmicro.com can offer some support but for the main it will actually be my professional interests working it.

Site Owner Guy.Many Many years ago someone set up a R/C boat thing at a shopping centre in my home town. It was permanent, largish 10m square pool, and about 10 coin-op control stations. I remember the controls being pretty vague and the boats slow and unimpressive.
Ofcourse att he time that same shopping centre was the largest single level shopping centre int eh Southern hemisphere!
For those history buffs, it’s in the same city as McDonalds open and operated Australias first 24 hour McDonalds.
It’s also the Capital of the “Banana Republic” which was until the mid-late eighties fully recognised adn a Republic falling under the jurisdiction of the AU Government 😉

Site Owner Guy.*laughs* Yeah Mini-Z is basically a 1/10th scale electric crammed into a 1/28th scale size. Exceptional product and worth the money I guess.
Tin Cars are fun, great for hacking around like ‘kids’ – I remember when i was younger (ok about 20 years ago now) stuff like the Tin Cars we buy now for $15 was like the pinnacle of Tandy/radio Shack technology and probably cost about $99 back then!
I still have my first ‘large’ R/C up at my parents place. A Radio Shack Mercedes Unimog. One day I’m going to bring it home from there and ‘moderise’ it a little.

Site Owner Guy.$19 could be considered a bit pricey, but it’s perfectly reasonable.
As an example genuine Taiyo Radi-Cans are about AU$45 RRP in Japan if I remember correctly. The cheapest (and nastiest) clones are about AU$9 at wholesale level….
Add in e-bay fees and voila you’re up to at least AU$12…. And ofcrouse the seller has to make a buck or two for their efforts.

Site Owner Guy.Nitro has a few disadvantages…
1. Noise – Sometiems it does annoy others.
2. Messy – The fuels, the lubes, etc all a little bit more messy that a ‘lectric …
3. Reverse? Ok there are some Fwd/Reverse units out there but they’re not common yet are they? Reverse can be handy especially for new drivers 😉Electric has disadvantages too:
1. Charge times – even a ‘fast charge’ can be 30 mintues or more
2. Cost of Battery packs… High capital spend thereI still prefer Electric, mainly becuase they’re tless intensive on maintenance…

Site Owner Guy.Because it’s a Micro R/C website.
I created this nonMicro forum becuase I have R/C of all scales, and many of our members are the same.
We don’t think that one scale is any better than another, it’s just that each scale is best suited to particular environments.
For example a Nitro truck is not going to work well in my works lunch room, but the Bit Char-Gs we race do.
The Mini-Z doesn’t liek the carpark, but runs great in the conference room. The 1/10th works great outside on tarmac (the TA03) or off road (The Baja)… I’ve not bothered with Nitro so can’t comment.
As each sections of the forums develop I do think about adding more sub sections to suit the use.
For example if this forums starts moving quickly and there’s a lot of Nitro discussion (between mroe than 4 people) and Electric then we may split into:
nonMicro Electric
nonMicro NitroBut really see how it goes 😉
As for Star Guitars now deleted contribution – Dude if you can’t say anything worthwhile don’t say it – or the Moderators will un-say it for you.

You guys, calm down a bit. I don’t think the rest of us want/need to know about how much peopel are getitng paid to wash cars. Or indeed how people are payign for the Hobby.

Site Owner Guy.Yeah it’s pretty much a case of shifting dirt around, testing it out, and repeating until you get good ‘safe’ jumps and berms etc.
Take a shovel tot eh beach one day (or anywhere else you can did around in softish soil/sand without getitng int trouble) and try out ideas, then build them in your yard (assuming you have the space).
