Ever since I learned about FET mods I wanted one but I know I’m not capable of the level soldering skills needed. Micro posted an advert on a mini rc forum over here in the States offering to do FET mods and I took him up on it. I love my FET modded car!!! It can drive over heavy carpet, has lots of torque and it does wheelies! The job looks very professional also. I sent Micro a MicroSizer Booster chassis. The Booster cars have two speeds and work very well with the FET mod. I just ordered a perfection 4.2 motor and a silver Ferrari Mondena body for it. This is now my favourite car! I’m going to post another chassis to him for another FET mod and when I get it back I will do a dual battery mod. That car should scream!

Just got my Zip Zap back from micro_Amps. The mosfet mod works just as well with them as the bits. Awesome torque and great speed. Thanks micro_Amps for another great job.:D

Wow I agree nine would be fantastic. I have four and a fifth on the way from the states and I can still get the 57 from Asia. I m hoping to get the ANU club up soon and we can have monthly race nights etc. Also plan to build a large club track ( I’m still in the middle of putting the streetlights and footpath on my own track)that can be changed around to make different tracks. I’ll post more when it gets up off the ground but I would encourage anyone in Canberra to join and kick my pants when we race.

As I said in my post on the Compact Char-g discusion, it comes with a 2.2 as standard. I bought one as well and that’s the motor it came with.It was the original standard motor for the early Bit’s in Japan, until they changed it to 1.0s. As VR-4 said sometimes they run differently despite what they are bought as.
dammit feels like all the good stuff is in the eastern states! either im not looking hard enough or Perth has really limited hobby shops or none at all that sell these goodies
im just pretty new to this to, but hears what i know. the motors 2.6(orange) only consider KITS with this motor as the other (green) is less not sure but the tires and maybe to some extent the wheels but thats about it.

Cool i heard that the E-maxx was fast stock thats probably why I am getting one and that it is a good jumper, But does anyone know if there are any extra charges ontop of the $540 to get it into Australia like import duty or customs
I just bought a Compact Char-g from K-Mart. The Silver Toyota Supra, Looks pretty good.
The reason I wanted it was not for the convenience of buying from Australia, but that they have a 40 Mhz Car like in the states. Which means I can now run five cars a once.
I don’t have a 57Mhz car yet but all the other frequencies seem to work fine with the Compact car. Also they come with the 2.2 Motor as opposed to the 1.0. Iritating, it’s too fast for my track. Pretty cool otherwise.
K-Mart in NSW and ACT are having a Toy sale from July 12 to 18 and the Compacts are being sold at 39.95. Bargain, but I was too impatient to wait three days.

$20 is a real good deal, I have tried this mod and it aint easy. My Fairlady Z made it back from micro_Amps in Australia the other day. It took a week there and a week back. All I can say is WOW! This is the first car I have that will do a wheelie, even with the 4.2 and teal gears! And it is only a single cell! It drives like my two cell booster zip zap now (not quite as fast, but close), I can use the boost to get the back end to come around in the turns. I got his new version that puts all the mosfets on the same side of the board. This reduces the number of wires needed. It also eliminates the wires running from one side of the board to the other. Now only two wires are needed, and they are tucked neatly in the center of the pcb. Great work micro_Amps, I love this mod!
Heres the results:
Fet modded Fairlady Z booster, single 150 mah battery, purple zip zap motor, 7 tooth pinion, orange gears.
before mod:
unboosted 2 mph
boosted 3.3 mph
after mod:
unboosted 3.6 mph
boosted 5 mph

I tore up two PCBs attempting to do this mod at home so the price MICRO charges is a bargain to me. I prefer this mod over a dual cell because it is easier to handle and easier to charge and is just about as fast. With 4.2 Pro motors installed, my 2 mspro’s are at least as fast as my dual cell cars and are much faster on a short/medium race track because of the lighter weight and better handling. I can hardly wait for MICRO to complete the my MSPRO Booster dual cell /FET mod. I guess most of already know that MICROAMPS is a cool guy too.
I’m aware that the booster controller has those functions. But then where’s the fun in that. Sooner or later I may end up picking one up. My brother found a store that is solely dedicated to the Micro RC scene, so I’ll have to check it out and see what else they peddle.

As simple as this is to implement, I’ve been really busy lately because we’re moving soon. I apologize for not posting pic or even finishing this. The worst part is the fact that all of the stuff is spread out on the work table and it wouldn’t take that much time.
