i’ve lived here my whole life and i still can’t get used to it!:D :8ball:
is there any similar sized 4 channel helis available that are really durable?
nup. the bigger they get the more breakable they get. and there’s nothing that size with full control. and the closest ones cost a bazillioin dollors anyway.
if you’ve really got the chopper bug then your next heli should be a 4ch counter rotating model like the medivac, esky lama, twister bell, etc.
also, when balancing your heli q, rather than “additive” balancing try “subtractive” balancing. eg: instead of adding weight to the front, remove weight from the back. :8ball:
the way the different sized bodies are fit on the same chassis is down to wheels, h-plate and mm or rm.
for a skyline i’m guessing you want a rm configuration. then you want narrow rims front, wide rear, both 1mm offset. :8ball:

My mate has a Venom Night Ranger 3D XL he could sell you.
Its a truly sexy piece of work.
If you, or anyone reading this, are interested drop me a PM.
what’s he askin’?
if you love those vids then do a search on youtube for “szabo” (there’s 3 of them! dad and 2 sons) and “curtis youngblood”. that should be enough to get you hooked!:D :8ball:
so far i just have the hard justice mod for bf2, definately makes singleplayer worth playing. :8ball:
how’s those battle picooz clones on toyeast! :8ball:
i started working 6 days a week and i just bought battlefield 2. i’ll probably never see people again!:D :8ball:
all hobby grade tx’s and rx’s are compatible provided they are the same frequency and modulation.
eg, in australia for land rc’s we have 27mhz or 40mhz.
and they can be either am or fm.so let’s say you settle on a 40mhz fm tx. you will need a 40mhz fm rx.
a 40mhz am rx will not work.you can get radios with removable modules so you can swap between am or fm and even go with the 2.4ghz craze!
eg, i have a futaba 3pk. i have a 27mhz am module so i can run my mini z, modified zipzap, 1:10 rally.
i also have a 27mhz fm module that i use to control my 1:10 monster truck.
and i can buy a 2.4ghz module that fits too.best of both worlds. :8ball:
spin up, left rudder, right cyclic, lift off, tail in, tail left, tail in, tail right, tail in, tail left, tail in, tail right, piroette, kickflip/mctwist, “inverted landing”.:D :8ball:
john 😉 :8ball:
that’s all good info.
once you get normal charging sorted then you can learn about tuning your cells.
eg: say you wanted your 3300’s to have lots of punch (voltage) for a race.
then you want to charge and discharge your cells hard. discharge at 35A and charge at 6A.want runtime? charge and discharge gently, charge at 3A, discharge at 5 – 10A :8ball:
well what you lack in words you make up in pics!! 😀
great job! :8ball:
yeah, i usually work public holidays too.
so when are holidays on? :8ball:
i still say look for chassis tweak. i know that chassis has no hplate but that’s the area of the chassis where tweak is likely to occur. :8ball:
there’s a newly completed concrete track just opened in my back yard!
it gets the betty.k and ph2t seal of aproval :topstuff:
only problem is i work when everyone else is free, weekends.
but one of my neighbours is a miserable turd, i wouldn’t mind pissing him off with a mini z party some time…. :8ball:
well good luck with that!:smiley14:
moved myself recently after nearly 5 years in one place, next time i’m just gonna sell everything and book into a retirement village!:D :8ball:
another thing to check is that all 4 wheels contact the ground evenly. there may be a slight twist in the h plate area making one rear wheel press harder on the ground than the others. this one will grab more during braking and acceleration causing the spinouts. :8ball:

i’m just busy learning to fly my chopper, it’s a big commitment! 😀 :8ball:
May 26, 2007 at 7:43 am in reply to: adding a team assciated speed control to an Xmod or mini-z ? #60698it’s not easily possible that i know of. you’d have to get a micro rx and servo to do it properly. :8ball:
some of my 1:28 paintjobs are here:
http://www.ausmicro.com/forum/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=3definately fork out for a quality masking tape, i bought a roll of the fancy yellow tamiya stuff and never had any bleed using it. :8ball:
i think it looks great! nice colours and scheme;)
i once did a flame job on an nsx body, i believe you when you say it was a bitch to mask!:D :8ball:
check out the new tomy q steer’s, same size as digi q’s (smaller than a bit char g) :8ball:

I’m always on the hunt for ant trails in the backyard to do burnouts on with my mini-z and micro-t… pretty sad, but it gets that way some times.
