RacerX -so you would travel to Hobart for a race day/event, or would you be hoping HSV is willing to allow others on his track?

The Auto Modellista set, and the Fairlady are booster sets. There are also available (or were) booster controller and cars sold without a body. Haven’t seen one for sale for a while, but I haven’t been looking either.

I think we were all hoping the new super BCGs would be boosters as standard, but that doen’t seem to be the case.

They won’t deliver to Aus. You need to get someone in the USA to buy it for you, then post it out.

How hard is it to fit a ZZ body to a BCG Chasis?

The more cars in a race at once the better I say. Adds to the realism, if not only for the competitiveness. I can t wait to get the new frequency cars.

Barto, depends what scale your car is. :smiley2:

I Might start a new thread about a Tas race day. Yup. That’s what I’ll do. I have a bunch of people at work that would probably come along for a laugh if nothing else.

    Taswegians, keep your eyes peeled.

pht2 – which Kmart are you going to? Which suburb/state? Other people should be able to say their local Kmart that yours has the same item for $x, and therefore they should match the price.

Better Tigers pss than esk river sewer sludge. =o)

Bit Tag-Ga Tasmania. I love it. We’d have to whip up some other tracks on the fly I think for the other stages. My track can be reconfigured into about 20+ different tracks, but the racing surface stays the same. We’d could whip up something like the BCG Grand Prix guys rally track for the event too.

Keep up the good work on the track – it’s all worth it once you have a track you love to use.

Yeah, buy a spare motor (or motors) from HLJ, ToyEast, or through Barrell (who you can contact through AusMicro).

Yeah, one of my old yellow motors was as slow as a 1.0.

Take it to Kmart or other Aussie seller of Compact Char-Gs and ask for a replacement. As a Tomy representative, and sellers of cars with the 2.2 motors, I’m pretty sure that consumer affairs will back you up they they should replace it (if it’s pretty new).

I had a 2.2 that ran slower than a 1.0. I returned it, and got a 2.2 that went as expected. There’s a certain range of acceptable error in the QA stage of their manufacture.

Prowler, your 2.6 might not be up to scratch, and the 2.2 might perform above it’s specifications.

I assume this idea didn’t get the numbers it needed. therefore I think it should get yanked off the home page.

I also suggest removing the story about the “recent hack”, as it isn’t recent anymore by a long shot, and we don’t want to give people ideas.

Only with an adaptor, and be careful, USA stuff runs on 120v, Aus is 240v. You cold pop it in the blink of an eye.

I’d just buy the same thing in Aus to be safe.

I’m tempted to try and make a downhill track, like the guys at the BCG Grand Prix have, only modular, so it can be pulled apart, and reused in a different order. Lots of ergonomic chairs around here to give me different heights for supports.

I know what you’re saying about the reality aspect MS, which is why I spent so much time in the design process on my track.

That noise is often created by the motor and the gears not being on a perfect riht angle to eaqch other. This can be because the gears are wonky, the pin they sit on isn’t straight, the axle isn’t straight, or the motor isn’t in perfectly flat. All are a pain to fix, but QFM has a motor height/angle adjustment mod.
