When the plastic pinions wear, they deform, which ruins the spur gear gradually.

The metal pinions don’t deform, so there is basically no wear on either the spur gear or the pinion.

My firebird XL is in pieces….

Well, the tailplane is in about 4 pieces, and I dont know a reliable way of repairing it.

These things say “anybody can fly” but they are still a fair bit trickier than a car…..you cant “stop” a plane and theres the added 3rd dimention…….

Of course you plane nuts would know 1000x as much as me about these things.

Well they are intrigiung, and at that price, they gotta be a bit of fun…

They come with a 7.2v battery, charger and stand, helicoper and TX….not bad at all.

They might make a small difference to that setup, a wee bit mor punch.

But its when you get turbos and hotter motors that the sanyos/energizers shine……

That would be quite a good sleeper actually, throw in a wn turbo and a seriously hot motor, some energizer/sanyo nimhs, some good tyres, and a few more handling improvements……

According to betty.k, the i waver swith is in series with the power supply, which is a stupid, stupid, stupid thang.

This could be a problem with using NIMHs, as they pass more current than alkalines, and may be owning the switch.

Slippage inside the stock diff???

There should be zilch slippage whatsoever…..

I guess that thing would be close on 40 k’s??
