although you can fast charge a pack in 1hr its never gonna be as good as a trickle charge. swallows only go down to 100mA so if you can afford to wait 10h for AAA’s to charge then do it. you can actually notice the difference if you take the time.

another problem with charging 4 AAA’s in series, i assume thats how your doing it, is that once again you will never fully reach the capacity of the batteries due to the mismatched energy densities. when a pack is made the cells are usually measured and matched to make a good pack. but i guess thats really getting too far into it…

@diehard – don’t but stuff off the rcmart website. im my experience shipping has been very expensive. they have an ebay store called dinball i think that has way cheaper shipping rates.

now that you’ve had more of a chance to thrash it around, how are the electronics? typical iwaver quality or something unexpected???

i do the same thing. works really well for me too. but then if your racing on a different track where there is not enough room for top speed do you change motors or just deal with it?

i think it always twists to one side for the same reason it always kicks out to one side… the stock diff. power transfer is not equal to both wheels. when accelerating (with wheels spin) one wheel spins faster than the other which is why it kicks out to one side so i’m thinking the same thing happens with brake, one wheels locks harder than the other

    haha yeah its tempting atm.

tried all of those things. did exactly the same thing on my fiegao 12mm brushless. made exactly the same noise/stall as the larger motor.

thanks for the help mate. looks like i will just have to bite the bullet and get a mamba 25 since it worked for ph2t. found one cheap! check this page out. free international shipping till tomorrow and 5% off!!!

took it out for its first spin today… what a joke! absolutely annihilated my autoscale shell. there has to be a difference between the airplane and car ESC’s. as soon as i pulled the trigger i figured this out. it was sporadic at best. sometimes it would kick in, other times it wouldn’t. it would just give a couple little kicks then die. but when it did kick in watch out. it absolutely launched!!! throttle control was hopeless to the point of non existent. so here are a few lessons i learned.

    1. don’t test a car with a shell you would like to keep.

    2. don’t skimp when buying electronics or it will just end up costing you more. probably gonna have to get the mamba-25 in the end anyway.

so my GWS pico came in and after a few hours trouble shooting i found that i need to run 10K resistor in line with the motor to get it working. not sure if it makes a difference but the servo motor i’m using came from an iwaver. my receiver and crystal are in the mail so i should have my beast up and running in no time.

also though i would mention that one of the fitter and turners from the workshop at work was able to plug then re-drill one of the pinions available in the ausmirco shop for me. now it fits a 1.5mm shaft so my 12mm feiago is also in the mail:D . i plan to use it in a MM version. way cheaper than the razor brushless.

that for the help with the servo PH2T

    Andrew.

only thing you might notice with a stack on a stock motor would be longer runtimes with less drop in performance. drifting puts a fair amount of stress on the fets. not sure what the awd ones are like but as soon as fets heat up they will decrease in efficiency and the car will start to lag.

i blew the diff in my micro-t the other day running this setup…
so i ordered a new set of diff gears, thinking it would come with ALL the gears in the diff part. man was i wrong. 1 of the 3 gears i really needed wasn’t in there! i need the second gear i guess before the gear reduction actually transferrs power to the mirco diff. so there is the biggest gear, the diff gear, the metal one and the other one. i need the other one. anyone know which set of spares this comes parts of??
