you get a 6 tooth pinion with this, no more.:8ball:
nananananananana click hereeeee!! http://www.ausmicro.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2176&FORUM_ID=13&CAT_ID=4&Topic_Title=mini+z+servo+madness&Forum_Title=Mini%2DZ%2C+Mini%2DX%2C+X%2DMods+%2D+Technical
all the answers are there, and welcome to tha crib!:8ball:
off topic:p but z, or anyone did you catch the latest issue with the article on miniature combustion engines? dead set, some smarty pants made a w@nkel rotary engine measuring 20mm across!!! puts out 10 watts:8ball:
ok, here’s some good themes for users of sony ericsson T610, T618, T616, T630 and Z600.
all points noted!:smiley2: with the fet replacement, i was refering to the steering fets.
i’m just sourcing components from old junk so it’s old technology, ie big. i’m sure i’ll find a higher value, smaller size at jaycar. basically my setup is this:i waver
powertech nimh/ energizer nimh
plasma dash
whoah nelly turbo
switch from an enertec (aint blown yet!:p):8ball:i waver and kyosho use the same sorta fets so if that works on a z it will work on an i waver and vice versa. i’m no techo but that pic looks about right:8ball:
if you’re gonna buy a new diff, make it a ball diff. and i’d use graphite to avoid collecting dust:8ball:
i think that gear set is for an overland or mad force, but don’t quote me:8ball:
i must admit to being a mcguyver, i mean i keep boxes of broken and throwaway rubbish for use in my little projects! the ultimate mcguyver toolkit should have:
wd40 (toolbox in a can)
gaffer tape
a shifter
multi grip pliersyou can do anything with that stuff! but for true inspiration, my hero is leonardo da vinci. he excelled in any field he threw himself into, and with no past masters to inspire him:8ball:
i’d say a lack of bearings is the prob. the bushing in the right wheel likes to hang on to the axle and the left wheel is attached to it:8ball:
i checked voltage. i’m using the xspeed at the mo, and at rest it’s 5v and when using full throttle it drops to 4.6. and when going forward and reverse it drops to 3.5. i’m using a digital multimeter so all values are averages. i tried the plasma with powertech 800mah nimhs and energizer nimhs. perhaps the resistance lies in the switch. with i wavers the power switch sits (electrically) between the 2 sets of 2 batteries, whereas a kyosho has the switch wired to the pcb. so the iw switch is right in the firing line. as i said one switch burnt out, a melting scorching burn out. and everything got hot, not too hot but definately not warm:8ball:
i’m happy with my t610, does all i want it to and more

anyone got some cool software links?:8ball:
things get mighty hot with these motors that’s for sure! i had the stock switch burn out on me (literally!). i can understand people making fireworks with these using no turbo or fet stacks:8ball:
they’re $15 to your door, who cares what brand! anything is better than bushings:8ball:
i just tried the capacitor (10v, 470 uf) and it sorta helped, but not enough. i’m guessing a bigger one will help but that will be huge and no one else has had this problem. pork hunt is running the same setup and he’s having no trouble with steering (except for the busted servo gears!):8ball:
so if i replace the servo gears and the pot then all is well? the gears move freely otherwise?:8ball:
my order was placed on a wednesday, mailed on thursday and arrived today. i always go airmail after a long wait for surface mail once! this is fairly typical for me:8ball:
zip tie the motor in place, you won’t need to do anything else!:8ball:
nice one, good to see some green for a change:8ball:
nice one, i’ll bet you had to give it some windex to clean it up:D:8ball:
all track info is here http://users.bigpond.net.au/putnam/
i’d swear the audio is from dumb and dumber!:8ball:
if i’m thinking right your stock car has a 6t pinion, very torquey. and your stock tyres are fairly hard. so using throttle control is your best bet, or mop the tiles. as for surface, drive it on anything it’ll go over i say!:8ball:
i think if you already have a soldering iron, just make do. i’ve only got a $30 tandy special and it’s never been a problem. if the tip is too fat you can always file it to a finer point. what jamie says is true, quality tools help produce quality work, but it aint the rule. ph2t has a worse iron than me and can do a better job than i can.
and yes, kits are an invaluable source of learning. you don’t even need to understand electronics to build one simply following the assembly instructions is enough to get it working. they’re fairly cheap and once you’ve done a couple you will have enough skills to work on more complicated kits like amplifiers or whatever’s out there. and the best part is after your lesson and practice session you have a cool electronic gizmo, battery tester, digital multimeter, theremin, whatever!:8ball:well it’s definately looking like my stuff now!:8ball:
😀 the way we were driving you could’ve lapped us with a stunt twister buggy!:8ball:
