I’m guessing that each car will have a number/colorattached to the antenna and as your car passes the start/finish line, someone yells out there number/colour and the marshall manually hits the appropriate key.
Just hope the laptops rechargeables last for a few hours… my old pentium laptops rechargeables are completely dead.
And guys… I bought a tamiya evo iii surikarn with all the red bling – can’t wait to run it. You guys running brush farm meet ?
Yeah nothing special…
That’s great news.. but after such a dilema, do you still want to send him money ? And will he post your items straight away or sit on it for 30 days or more or even claim to have sent it but didn’t..
Personally, I wouldn’t have any more dealings with such a character.
I can’t make it this Sunday.
The other half has made plans to visit a friend that’s just had twins and I totally forgot about it…Damn, wanted to try out my new 1:10 chassis.
I think all we need is pete around to shout the usual ‘Git da faarrk out of here…’ when they venture in too close. That should get the parents attention to keep the kids away…

Sorry to hear this…
You should havepicked up the kid’s bike and launched it several metres into the air in a fit of rage.. that should make you feel better…
I think the parents should be responsible for the damage that their kids cause. The lack of discipline these days disgusts me…
He probably thinks your female…!?
$220 USD shipping is ridiculous.
It’s f0cking pricks like that on ebay that sell something with no reserve, and when they don’t get what they are expecting, they add on ‘the extra handling charges’ at the end to try and recuperate their costs…
Let us know how it goes… worst case scenario is negative feedback on Ebay..
I use a superbrain 969 pro – which I haven’t had any trouble with.
It comes bundled with a 5 amp power supply which can be used with Aussie 240V mains by using a standard pc power cable and also comes with cables and alligator clips to hook up direct to 12V dc car battery.
It has two channels to charge two batt packs at the same time, however you can only do this with a car battery or seperate power supply that is capable of supplying 9 amps.
This charger can only charge at max 4.5 amps per channel which is ok but if you like to hit your back packs with more, than I’d be going for a Duratrax intellipeak ice which I think tower is selling them for $120 USD atm so seems like good value.

Quote:So far my info on Car handleing has come from this siteNot sure how it stacks up, but it is over all very readable and doesn””t cost $30

Any chance you could tell us how it stacks up to the book Kev?
I’ve been through those chapters on that site several times prior to buying the book and although it contains some good information on the theory, I felt it didn’t give me the information that I really needed on the track.
For example, take a scenariowhere you’re car enters a turn and the rear becomes loose, what settings can you do to prevent the rear from coming loose…? I had no idea prior to buying the book…
But after reading the book, I now know that on entry to a turn, too much weight is being transferred from the rear to the front. The front will have lots of tractiondue toall the weighttransferred to it while the rear doesn’t and loses traction.
Tolimit this weight transfer from happening:
– Reduce rear droop.
– use a softer spring on the rear or use a harder spring on the front.
– adjust ride height so that the rear is atmost 1mm lower than the front.
To increase rear traction/stability:
– ensure rear camber is properly set.
– rear toe-in settings.
That’s the sort of information that I was really after and simply could not find else where on the web…

Quote:Hey Dave you still getting a half 8??i dont know which one to get? if you get 1 and kev has the rc18t you guys can have a test day ie i play with both and make my mind up! LOL.
Yeah TD, next time we have a meadowbank/brush farm meet, I’ll bring it so that we can all have a run with it.
But looking at the half8, it looks pretty good and they are $259 at hobbyco. But can’t remember if it uses a side by side pack or saddle but definitely has the toe-in and camber settings.
I also had to spend the time with family…so couldn’t make it.
I bought about 12 witches hats/cones on the weekendso next time we’re down there we can lay them out and have some fun !

LOL… You’ve been there as well…I’ve only gone in there for eye candy really.
It’s right next to JB Hi Fi underneath the Citicorp Building.
So is this the demiseof the good old Tomy BCG…

Go down the escalators and turn right. Hang a right again at the cafe and it””””s the 3rd or 4th shop on your right. They mainly carry model stuff (hence the name),but there is a range of BCG and SBCG and parts. Or Aaron of course is another option…

What class you racing in ? 540 ?
Might have to attend the next brush farm meet.
True. I guees I was comparing to the video of the rc18t on the AE web site where it goes so damn quick….
So who is getting one ? I m having trouble finding a decent place to run my rc18t apart from the local park, but the grass is too high there.

Quote:the vid was a bit like our Z””s on my track Kev… could””nt be too fast or control””d be out the window. I””ll bet they can go alot faster than thatWhat s this bacon stuff ?
Yeah they re about $250 – $259at Hobbyco. Had a look at them and the tub chassis is much wider than the rc18t, also has toe in and camber adjustments out of the box which the rc18t doesn’t have.
To be honest, the video didn’t do it for me… they appeared really slow going around that dirt track…
Oh man, mothers day. I’ve forgotten.
Might have to see if any family stuff is on before I say I’m going…
Anyone up for a run this Sunday – Brush Farm or Meadowbank ?
I hope they come out with a part which shields the spur gear and pinion gears from getting bloody rocks into it…
Otherwise, an excellent little truck.
As for $50USD for some alloy oil shocks, man.. they’re more expensive than my 1/10 trf shocks.
Quote:Quote:Was that the 320k variety or the high tech double sided ones at 640? :smiley2:You kids are way too modern for me.
Mine did 140k from 32tpi with 16-bit writing – single sided.
Snip a notch on the left edge (special puncher machine!) and
we could flip them over and write a further 140k on the back.🙂
I’ve still got my $2300 ibm xt 8086 pc in my garage…
What sort of rollout is considered safe for a epic stock motor ?
Is 26-28mm okay ?
Quote:yeah sounds like you have done a gear in the servo…. but they only break if you hit something hard:dead: otherwise they work well. have had one in my mini for years now.BIG DAVE
Just got one priced at the lhs for $22.95, so I’ll just get a new one.
Thanks for all the help everyone.
😀
Quote:sounds obvious but are you certain it’s the servo? check all the steering linkages to be sure. i’ve had one that i got second hand and i use it in my rs4 mt without a prob:8ball:Yeah checked all my steering links and the servo saver for any damage, but all is okay – nothing broken.
It’s like the servo doesn’t have enough strength to recenter properly within 5mm of the correct centre, and thats after turning left only.
I’ll do what TD suggest and move my touring car s3003 servo to the mini to see what happens…
This lathe cuts really good.
Got a shine and finish like a brand new motor comm.
Can’t go past japanese quality, the lathe is so sturdy and solid, and the build quality is exceptional.
